WE DIDN'T MAKE IT TO 40 TODAY, BUT CAME CLOSE, WITH SUNNY SKIES.

MAQUOKETA'S NEW POLICE OFFICER HAS STARTED WORK.
JAYSON HEIAR, AGE 34, ATTENDED THE IOWA LAW ENFORCMENT ACADEMY IN 2010, AND THEREFORE WAS ALREADY QUALIFIED.   HE PRVEIOUSLY WORKED PART TIME IN PRESTON FOR 2 YEARS.  HE IS MARRIED WITH 3 CHILDREN AND LIVES IN HIS NATIVE BELLEVUE.      CHIEF BRAD KORANDA SAID HE IS  ALLOWING HEIAR TO CONTINUE LIVING IN BELLEVUE AT THIS TIME.   HE REPLACED BRAD KRAUSE WHO LEFT TO WORK FOR THE
DUBUQUE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE.'
