BY $5 PER MONTH AT THE MAQUOKETA AREA FAMILY YMCA TO HELP OFFSET A POSSIBLE
$50,000 DEFICIT. ALSO, THE Y HAS AGREED TO RECRUIT 100 NEW MEMBERS AND CUT PART-TIME STAFF HOURS BY $13,500. FRANK KLIPSCH OF THE SCOTT COUNTY YMCA, WHICH
OPERATES THE MAQUOKETA Y FOR THE CITY, SAID MAQUOKETA'S Y NEEDS 900 MEMBERSHIPS TO MAKE THE BUDGET WORK. CURRENTLY THERE ARE 750 MEMBERS AND 150 OF THOSE ARE ON
SCHOLARSHIP. KIRPSCH TOLD MEMBERS OF A COUNCIL STEERING COMMITTEE EARLIER THIS WEEK THAT THEY HAD OVER 900 MEMBERSHIPS WHEN THE Y OPENED A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO, BUT MEMBERSHIP HAS DROPPED DOWN.

THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS HAVE A HOME GAME SATURDAY AFTERNOON, HOSTING WEST DELAWARE.
A TRIPLE HEADER. FRESHMEN AND JV GAMES AT 2 AND THE VARSITY GAME AROUND 3:30.
