MONDAY DAILY REPORT

80 DEGREES TODAY....HUMID TOO.
A LITTLE RAIN OVER THE PAST WEEKEND AND THIS MORNING.
THE REST OF THE WEEK WILL BE COOLER.

THE MAQUOKETA MAN WHO WAS ACCUSED OF KILLING HIS DOG AFTER IT RAN AWAY HAS BEEN SENTENCED.      THE JUDGE SENTENCED ANDREW
HARLAND, AGE 19, TO 120 DAYS IN JAIL, SUSPENDED, ON CHARGES OF
ANIMAL TORTURE.     HE WAS ALSO FINED $625 AND ORDERED TO PERFORM 100 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE WORK.    HE WAS ALSO ORDERED TO
UNDERGO PHYCOLOGICAL  EVALUATION.    BELLEVUE POLICE SAID THEY
FOUND THE DOG WITH ITS NECK CUT IN A WOODED AREA.    THE BLOOD
TRAIL LEAD TO A RESIDENCE IN BELLEVUE.   HARLAND ADMITTED HE HAD KILLED THE DOG BECAUSE IT RAN AWAY.   HE WAS ORGINALLY CHARGED
WITH ANIMAL NEGLECT.

A MAQUOKETA MAN IS IN JAIL AFTER  ITEMS TO MAKE METH  WERE FOUND IN HIS VEHICLE.     POLICE CHARGED SETH SIMONIN, AGE 24.    POLICE STOPPED HIS VEHICLE FRIDAY NIGHT AT HIGHWAY 64 AND JACOBSEN
DRIVE.      HE REFUSED CHEMICAL TESTING.

SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TODAY.
