THE MAQUOKETA FIRE DEPARTMENT WILL HOST A BLOOD DRIVE FROM 6:30 TO 10:30 A.M. TOMORROW AT THE FIRE STATION.   BLOOD WILL BE FOR
MISSISSIPPI VALLEY REGIONAL BLOOD CENTER, THE  SAME CENTER THAT
PROVIDES BLOOD TO THE LOCAL HOSPITAL.

MAQUOKETA NATIVE RUSS HARTVIGSEN DIED BACK ON NOVEMBER 11TH AND THERE WILL BE A PRIVATE MEMORIAL CEREMONY TOMORROW,
SATURDAY, AT MICHEL'S HALL IN MAQUOKETA.    HE SERVED IN WORLD
WAR II AND RECEIVED THE PURPLE HEART AFTER BEING WOUNDED NEAR FRANKFURT, GERMANY.     HE HAD LIVED DOWN SOUTH SINCE THE 80'S, IN FLORIDA AND GEORGIA.    HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE CHRIS, A SON DICK
IN NORTH LIBERTY, IOWA, A SON IN FLORIDA AND 2 DAUGHTERS, THREE STEP-DAUGHTERS AND ALSO 14 GRANDCHILDREN.
