MONDAY DAILY

A NEW NAME!    THIS SIGN WAS PUT UP LAST WEEK ON EAST PLATT STREET
IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA, POINTING TO THE GALLERY.    FOR MANY YEARS
IT HAS BEEN THE  "OLD CITY HALL GALLERY" OWNED BY ROSE FRANTZEN.
NOW, THE NEW NAME MAKES GOOD SENSE.    ROSE IS ONE OF THE BEST AND A
VERY FAMOUS ARTIST NATIONWIDE.    HER GALLERY SHOULD HAVE HER NAME.
I HOPE THEY NOW ALSO CHANGE THE NAME ON THE SIDE OF THE GALLERY BY
THE MAIN ENTRANCE.

THIS WAS ON FACEBOOK AND ABOUT THE BIG CHANGES BEING MADE AT  GOODENOW FIELD IN MAQUOKETA.
BUY A BRICK FROM BOB GAVIN AT THE MAQUOKETA STATE BANK.

WHEN I WAS IN THE ARMY IN 1964, MY DIVISION WENT ON A MANUEVER
FROM FORT HOOD, TEXAS TO THE DESERT IN CALIFORNIA AND I WAS ASSIGNED TO
DRIVE A DUECE-AND-A-HALF.    YESTERDAY, I HAD A RIDE IN ONE THAT
BROUGH BACK MEMORIES.     CURT COUNTRYMAN, A MAQUOKETA HIGH GRADUATE,
PURCHASED THIS ONE EARLIER THIS YEAR IN UTAH.   IT IS NOW THE BEST TRUCK
AND TOY HE HAS EVER OWNED.    HIS WIFE IS KATHY MOORE, NANCY'S OLDEST DAUGHTER AND THEY LIVE IN SYCAMORE, ILLINOIS.    ALSO LIVING THERE, THEIR TWO KIDS AND FIVE GRANDKIDS.     BEAUTIFUL DAY YESTERDAY FOR SWIMMING
IN THEIR POOL AND A COOKOUT.    NOTICED LOTS OF "NOT SO GOOD LOOKING"
CORN FIELDS ON THE 2 HOUR DRIVE.
CURT, RETIRED FROM TEACHING THIS PAST MAY, HAS PLENTY TO DO WITH LAWN MOWING  AND  GARDENING.     NANCY AND KATHY WITH POOL BEHIND.    KATHY,
IS SUPERINTENDENT OF THE DISTRICT.      SHE RETIRES AFTER ONE MORE YEAR.
ON THE WAY HOME, NANCY FINDS OUT SHE HAS A 12TH GREAT-[GRANDCHILD, BORN
YESTERDAY TO NATE MOORE AND WIFE  IN LINCOLN.

AND THERE'S KMAQ'S FLOWER GARDEN.     DOING GOOD AND LOOKING GOOD.

GOOD FORECAST FOR THIS WEEK, WITH COOLER TEMPS AND LITTLE RAIN.
I WILL BE COVERING THE CEDAR COUNTY FAIR THIS WEEK IN TIPTON.
AND WYOMING FAIR THIS WEEKEND.    NEXT WEEK,  THE GREAT JONES COUNTY
FAIR AND CLINTON COUNTY FAIR.    AND THE FINAL WEEK IN  JULY,  THE JACKSON
COUNTY FAIR.
