MAQUOKETA WILL BE GETTING A NEW PRESS BOX FOR THE NEW TRACK AND FOR THE SOFTBALL DIAMOND.

A TOTAL OF 49 PEOPLE HAVE APPLIED FOR THE POSITION OF MIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL IN MAQUOKETA.

THE MISS MAQUOKETA RIVER PAGEANT IS THIS SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE NEW OHNWARD AUDITORIUM. THERE IS ONE LOCAL CONTESTANT, GRETCHEN DAVISON, AGE 24, DAUGHTER OF DON AND SHARON DAVISON MAQUOKETA.

ONNOLEE "NONNIE" BROMAN, AGE 81, DIED THIS MORNING AT HER HOME AFTER A PROLONGED ILLNESS. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND, DR. JOHN A. BROMAN. ALSO 8 CHILDREN. FOR HER COMPLETE OBITURARY, GOT TO www.carsonandson.com THEY HAVE LIVED IN MAQUOKETA SINCE
