THURSDAY DAILY REPORT

CLOUDY ALL DAY.
GOT UP TO 50.
THEY SAID THE RAIN WOULD START AT 3.
IT IS JUST AFTER 3 NOW AND THE RAIN STARTED A FEW MINUTES AGO.
TOMORROW, SOME RAIN AND SUNSHINE AND HIGH IN UPPER 50'S.
SATURDAY, SUNNY AND WARMER.
GRADUATION  DAY SUNDAY SHOULD PRETTY GOOD.

THE ANDREW COMMUNITY SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS HAVE HIRED A
NEW PRINCIPAL.    TARA NOTZ, A  MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE
WILL START IN JULY.    SHE HAS BEEN WORKING IN THE DES MOINES PUBLIC
SCHOOLS FOR 10 YEARS.   SHE AND HER HUSBAND ERIK HAVE TWO CHILDREN AND WILL MOVE BACK TO  EASTERN IOWA THIS SUMMER.

TWO CAR ACCIDENT JUST SOUTH OF THE HURSTVILLE ROAD.
RUSSELL REKEMEYER OF DEWITT, AGE 59, WAS DRIVING NORTH ON     61.
DONALD KELLY, AGE 69, OF MAQUOKETA, WAS ALSO DRIVING NORTH
ON 61, IN THE RIGHT LANE, AT ABOUT 45 MILES PER HOUR.
REKEMEYER'S VEHICLE REAR-ENDED THE KELLY VEHICLE.
NO INJURIES.
$4,000 DAMAGE TO  EACH VEHICLE.
REKEMEYER WAS CHARGED.

IN HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER, MAQUOKETA BEAT BENTON COMMUNITY,
1 TO 0.

MAY CELEBRATES YEAR 26 FOR NUGENT AUTO SALES AND SALVAGE
IN MAQUOKETA.
