THE MAQUOKETA POLICE DEPARTMENT IS INVESTIGATING A BREAK-IN AT LEN'S BP CONVENIENCE STORE ON WEST PLATT STREET. THE BREAK-IN DISCOVERED AND REPORTED BY STORE EMPLOYEE TRACY EHLERS AT 4:37 THIS MORNING. THE
BUSINESS HAD CLOSED AT 10 SUNDAY NIGHT. ENTRY WAS GAINED BY PRYING OPEN A BACK DOOR. AN UNDETERMINED AMOUNT OF CASH WAS TAKEN.

CORA GROTE, 87, OF MAQUOKETA, DIED YESTERDAY AT THE HOSPTIAL HERE IN MAQUOKETA. THE FUNERAL WILL BE AT 11 A.M. WEDNESDAY AT THE CHANCY LUTHERAN CHURCH IN CLINTON. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND, REV. HARVEY GROTE OF MAQUOKETA, AND FIVE DAUGHTERS. PAPE FUNERAL HOME IN CLINTON IS ASSISTING THE FAMILY.

SERVICES ARE PENDING AT THE CARSON AND SON FUNERAL HOME, FOR CLARA WHITE, 96, OF MAQUOKETA. SHE DIED YESTERDAY AT THE LOCAL HOSPITAL.

KELLY AND BRIAN PEEBLES ARE THE PARENTS OF A BOY BORN LAST THURSDAY
AT FRESNO, CALIFORNIA. GRAND PARENTS ARE CARL AND MAUREEN
KILBURG OF MAQUOKETA.
