MAQUOKETA POLICE CHEIF BRAD KORANDA WILL ANNOUNCE A NEW SERGEANT FROM HIS STAFF LATER THIS WEEK. THEIR ARE 4 OFFICERS TRYING FOR THE PROMOTION.

A PERRY, IOWA WOMAN SLIPPED ABOUT 3:30 YESTERDAY AFTERNOON WHILE CROSSING A CREEK AT THE MAQUOKETA CAVES STATE PARK AND BROKE HER LEG. SHE WAS A LARGE PERSON AND IT TOOK NEARLY AND HOUR TO GET HER FROM WHERE SHE SLIPPED TO AN AMBULANCE AND THE HOSPITAL.

IN MAGISTRATE COURT:
KEVIN O'ROURKE OF MAQUOKETA, AGE 23, WAS CHARGED WITH THEFT IN THE 5TH DEGREE AND PUBLIC INTOXICATION EARLY SATURDAY MORNING AT CORNER OF DECKER AND PLATT STREETS.
MATHEW LASLEY, AGE 19, OF MAQUOKETA, WS FINED $91 ON CHARGES OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION
EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.
MICKEY LEE MANNING,AGE 37, OF MAQUOKETA, WAS FINED $157 ON CHARGES OF PUBLIC INTOXICATION LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
AND IN DISTRICT COURT,
PETER ADA, 27, OF MAQUOKETA, WAS SENTENCED TO 30 DAYS, 28 SUSPENDED, ON CHARGES OF
OWI. THE ARREST WAS MADE BACK ON MAY 1ST.

THE MAQUOKETA BOYS HIGHS SCHOOL BASEBALL TEAM LOST THEIR TOURNAMENT GAME TO MT. VERNON AND HAVE FINISHED UP THE SEASON.
