ANYONE OUT THERE THAT WENT TO THIS RURAL MAQUOKETA SCHOOL? I TOOK THIS PHOTO LAST WEEK. CLICK-ON IT TO ENLARGE IT.
COLD AND RAINY TODAY, AFTER A FAIRLY NICE EASTER WEEKEND. BETTER WEATHER COMING TOMORROW AND WEDNESDAY.

KMAQ-FM IS OFF THE AIR AGAIN AND AGAIN, A TUBE, THAT WE BOUGHT NEW
ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO. MUST HAVE BEEN A DUD. NEW REPLACEMENT WILL BE
HERE IN THE MORNING.

LEIGHTON HEPKER AND I WENT TO ST. LOUIS LAST WEEK FOR THE CARDINAL NETWORK ANNUAL GET TOGETHER. TWO NICE WEATHER DAYS. THE CARDS
LOST THE WEDNESDAY GAME AND WON THE THURSDAY AFTERNOON GAME, WITH
CHRIS CARPENTER DOING A GREAT JOB AS A REGULAR STARTER AGAIN.
ST. LOUIS IS EXCITED ABOUT HOSTING THE ALL STAR GAME THIS JULY....SIGNS ALL OVER THE STADIUM AND DOWNTOWN. THE CARDS ARE OFF TO A GREAT
START WITH FIVE WINS AND ONLY TWO LOSSES. AND SLUGGER ALBERT PUHOLS IS ALSO OFF TO A GREAT START. TOO BAD WE CAN'T ORDER WORLD SERIES TICKETS YET.
BY THE WAY, THE CARDINALS HOSTED US WEDNESDAY NIGHT IN THE NEW
CHAMPIONS PARTY ROOM.....THAT IS OPEN TO ANYONE THAT WANTS TO PAY
THE $150 WEEKDAYS OR $250 WEEKENDS TICKET PRICE. ALL THE FOOD
AND BEVERAGE YOU WANT DURING THE GAME.....DINE-IN AND WATCH THE GAME
INSIDE, OR GO THROUGH SLIDING DOORS TO A REGULAR OUTSIDE SEAT. PRETTY
NEAT AND QUITE FANCY. THE NEXT AFTERNOON, A SMALLER, BUT STILL NICE
PARTY ROOM AGAIN FOR THE 150 STATIONS THAT MAKE UP THE RADIO AND TV NETWORKS. THE NEW STADIUM IS SATURATED WITH PARTY ROOMS.
WE WILL TAKE A BUS TO SEE THE CARDINALS PLAY THE BREWERS IN MILWAUKEE IN JULY. MORE INFORMATION LATER ON. THAT WILL BE OUR ONLY BASEBALL BUS TRIP THIS YEAR.

NICE, LONG WEEKEND STORY ON SAGE ROSENFELS AT www.twincities.com/sports/ci
MAQUOKETA MENTIONED A LOT. I'M GIVING SOME THOUGHT TO SPONSORING A BUS TRIP TO MINEAPOLIS THIS FALL TO SEE SAGE PLAY. HE HOPEFULLY WILL BE THE STARTING VIKINGS QB THIS SEASON.

NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED IN A TWO VEHICLE ACCIDENT WHICH HAPPENED AT JUST AFTER 9 A.M. SATURDAY ON THE ESGATE ROAD NORTHWEST OF MAQUOKETA.
DEPUTY ED CLARK SAID LARRY DAVID, AGE 55, OF MAQUOKETA WAS DRIVING A TRACTOR PULLING ANHYDROUS AMMONIA TANK NORTH ON THE ESGATE ROAD.
THE TRACTOR WENT INTO THE LEFT LANE T MAKE A TURN. BRENDA HICKS, AGE 42, WAS BEHIND THE TRACTOR AND THOUGHT IT WAS GOING INTO THE FIELD ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WOULD THEN GO STRAIGHT.
HOWEVER, THE TRACTOR DIDN'T GO STRAIGHT AND TURNED AND HIT THE HICKS VEHICLE. $10,000 DAMAGE TO HICK'S PICKUP AND $1,000 DAMAGE TO THE DAVID JOHN DEERE TRACTOR.
ALSO, IN ANOTHER ACCIDENT, DARWIN KLOFT, AGE 52, WAS DRIVING ON 172ND STREET AT 4:45 A.M. SATURDAY AND AS HE APPROACHED THE CAVES ROAD, THE BRAKES FAILED AND HE WENT THOUGH THE INTERSECTION AND INTO THE DITCH.
$500 DAMAGE TO HIS PICKUP. NO INJURIES.

THE 61 DRIVE-IN THEATRE OPENS THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY. THE DOUBLE FEATURE WILL BE "FAST AND FURIOUS" AND "TAKEN", BOTH RATED PG.
STARTED IN 1950, THE 61 HAS BEEN POPULAR EVERY SUMMER SINCE. ONE OF THE FEW DRIVE-IN AROUND. NANCY AND I WILL BE ATTENDING A MOVIE CONVENTION IN MINNEAPOLIS TOMORROW AND WEDNESDAY AND WILL GET A PREVIEW OF THE 2009 DRIVE-IN SEASON. SO FAR, THE MOVIE BUSINESS HAS BEEN VERY GOOD IN 2009, BREAKING SOME RECORDS.

NO REPORT TOMORROW OR WEDNESDAY....MAYBE THURSDAY.

HAVE A GOOD WEEK.
