NO REPORT TODAY
A LOT HAS BEEN DONE IN DOWNTOWN DEWITT THE PAST 3 YEARS, TO MAKE IT
ONE OF THE NICEST DOWNTOWNS IN THE MIDWEST. THE "FINAL TOUCH"
HAPPENED THIS PAST MONDAY WHEN THE JOHN BLOOM SCULPTURES WERE PLACED
DOWNTOWN ON 6TH AVENUE. 6TH AVENUE IS MAIN STREET. ONE SCULPTURE
WAS PLACED ON NORTH 6TH AVENUE ACROSS FROM THE GERMAN HAUS
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OFFICE AND THE OTHER SCULPTURE WAS PLACED ON
THE SPECIAL LIGHTED PLATFORM ON SOUTH 6TH AVENUE (THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF
STREET FROM THE NORTH ONE) BY THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUSEUM. THE
ABOVE PLAQUE TELLING ABOUT JOHN BLOOM IS LOCATED NEXT TO THE SOUTH
FARMER "SHUCKING" CORN WITH ENCOURAGEMENT FROM HIS DOG. THE TWO
WORKS, TOTALING SEVERAL HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS, ARE BEAUTIFUL TOO AT NIGHT WITH SPECIAL LIGHTS IN THE BASE. FUNDING FOR THE TWO ART
DISPLAYS WAS FUNDED BY GRANTS AND DONATIONS. CONGRATULATIONS TO
DEWITT ON THIS GREAT ADDITION TO DOWNTOWN DEWITT.
CLICK-ON THE THREE PHOTOS I TOOK WEDNESDAY TO ENLARGE THEM. CLICK TWICE TO ENLARGE THEM EVEN MORE.
