MOSTLY SUNNY AND 53 TODAY.
WE GOT AROUND 2 INCHES OF RAIN OVER THE WEEKEND IN MAQUOKETA.
TOMOROW, MOSTLY SUNNY AND HIGH OF 63.
WEDNESDAY, CHANCE OF RAIN AND HIGH OF 69.
THURSDAY....MORE RAIN, HIGH OF 60.
FRIDAY, PARTLY SUNNY AND A HIGH OF ONLY 53.

MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT, I'LL BE HAVING SOME
CITY COUNCIL NEWS THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS.

THE FRIENDS OF THE MAQUOKETA CAVES STATE PARK SERVED A PANCAKE
BREAKFAST TO 200 PEOPLE ON THE OPENING DAY OF THE CAVES THIS PAST SATURDAY MORING. THE SYRUP WAS MADE BY PARK RANGER SCOTT DYKSTRA WHO MADE IT FROM TREES IN THE PARK.
REP. BRIAN MOORE WAS AT THE BREAKFAST WITH HIS FAMILY. MOORE AND SEN. TOD BOWMAN WORKED WITH THE DNR TO GET THE CAVES RE-OPENED
THIS SUMMER.

PAULA RIVER OF MAQUOKETA HAS BEEN SELECTED AS ONE OF THE BEST IN HER PROFESSION. SHE IS A NURSE AND WILL BE HONORED WITH 99 OTHERS IN THE STATE AT A PROGRAM MAY 6TH AT VETERANS AUDITORIUM IN DOWNTOWN
DES MOINES. SHE HAS ASSUMED SEVERAL ROLES SINCE SHE STARTED WORKING AT THE DEWITT HOSPITAL IN 2004. SINCE 2011, SHE HAS HELD THE POSITION OF NURSING OUTCOMES SPECIALIST.

DESPITE THE WEEKEND RAIN, THERE WERE CARS BOTH FRIDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT AT THE 61 DRIVE-IN THEATRE....ABOUT 25 EACH NIGHT AND SATURDAY NIGHT, LIGHTNING STRUCK THE 3 COMPUTERS OUT THERE. ALL WILL
BE REPLACED BY THIS FRIDAY NIGHT.
AND THE STOCK CAR RACES WERE ALSO HELD SATURDAY NIGHT.

ROBERT AND BONNIE CHRISTENSEN ARE MOVING TO MARSHALLTOWN
ON MAY 14TH....AFTER 40 YEARS IN THIS AREA. WILL BE CLOSE TO
ONE OF THE KIDS.
WE WILL MISS BOTH!
THEY ARE HAVING A SALE OF ITEMS THEY DON'T WANT TO MOVE.
