IT HAS BEEN A RAINY COOL WEDNESDAY. TERRIBLE.

MAQUOKETA POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR A STOLEN VEHICLE AND MISSING MONEY.
ARDELL FELLER SAID SOMEONE TOOK HIS VEHICLE FROM 412 S. ELIZA STREET ON TUESDAY.
AND....BONNIE DAEMERICH, 513 N. WALNUT, SAID SOMEONE TOOK MONEY FROM HER SON'S ROOM ON TUESDAY.
AND IN JACKSON COUNTY, THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE RECEIVED A REPORT THAT SOMEONE (GET THIS NOW) TOOK THE TIRES AND RIMS OFF HER SON'S VEHICLE EARLY THIS MORNING. VALUE LISTED, $1,700.

THE FAMOUS POTTER'S MILL IN BELLEVUE IS IN THE NEWS TODAY. CAROLYN AND DARYL EGGERS HAVE TURNED OVER OPERATIONS OF THE RESTAURANT, BED AND BREAKFAST AND GIFT SHOP TO BILLY JO PULLEY OF BELLEVUE. THE EGGERS BOUGHT THE POTTERS MILL IN OCTOBER OF 1980. IT TOOK FIVE YEARS TO RESTORE THE FACILITY AND IT OPENED AS A RESTAURANT IN 1985. EGGERS THEN WAS A MARSHALLTOWN DOCTOR AND BELLEVUE WAS HIS HOMETOWN. HIS BROTHER AND OTHERS MANAGED IT UNTIL HE RETIRED FROM MEDICINE AND MOVED BACK TO BELLEVUE TO RUN IT WITH HIS WIFE CAROLYN SEVERAL YEARS AGO. THEY ADDED THE BED AND BREAKFAST ROOMS. EGGERS WILL CONTINUE TO OWN THE FACILITY AND SAID BILLIE JO WILL USE MUCH OF THE CURRENT STAFF. SHE WAS MANAGER OF THE PAMIDA STORE IN BELLEVUE UNTIL IT CLOSED EARLIER THIS YEAR. SHE IS ALSO A BELLEVUE NATIVE AND HAS A DEGREE IN BUSINESS AND EXPERIENCE IN RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT. SHE PLANS TO BE OPEN EVERY DAY, EVEN DURING THE WINTER, AND PLANS TO EXPAND THE GIFT AREA.

ED HUDRLIK, AGE 74, OF MAQUOKETA, DIED YESTERDAY. MANY WILL REMEMBER ED AS BEING THE LEADER OF A POPULAR LOCAL COUNRY BAND YEARS AGO.
SOON, HIS FULL OBITUARY WILL BE AT www.carsonandson.com

THE MAQUOKETA CARDINALS PLAY AT MOUNT VERNON FRIDAY NIGHT. IT WILL BE A TOUGH GAME. MAQUOKETA IS 3 AND 2 IN THE DISTRICT AND THEY ARE 4 AND 1.

THEY ARE POURING CONCRETE LIKE CRAZY AT THE NEW SUPER WAL MART JUST SOUTH OF MAQUOKETA, POURING BOTH AN EAST AND WEST EXTRA TURNING LANE.

HAVE A GOOD WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY.'
