THURSDAY DAILY REPORT

IT HAS BEEN A STRANGE WEATHER DAY.
WE HAD A SNOW STORM AT 11 THIS MORNING.
AND NOW, THE SUN SHINING.   HIGH TODAY WAS 32.

THE MAQUOKETA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCED TODAY THAT
THEIR BUILDING HAS BEEN SOLD TO DENA DONATSCH WHO IS OWNER
OF HEALING ART THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE ON WEST PLATT.   THAT
BUSINESS WILL MOVE TO THE MAIN STREET LOCATION.     SALE PRICE
WAS $30,000.    THE BUILDING WAS GIFTED TO THE CHAMBER TO THE CHAMBER BY THE LATE JAMES AND VIVIAN BLAYNEY IN MEMORY OF
VIVIAN'S PARENTS, OLIN AND AGNES  FARMER.   THE CHAMBER OFFICE WILL MOVE ACROSS THE STREET INTO THE MAQUOKETA ARTS EXPERIENCE BUILDING, OWNED BY BOB OSTERHAUS.   

SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TONIGHT.    ON THE AGENDA, A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE NEXT SCHOOL CALENDAR, A PRESENTATION ON THE DISTRICT
PHONE SYSTEM, AND THE BOARD WILL TALK ABOUT THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY
OF THE HIGH SCHOOL.

COREY BICKFORD, AGE 44, OF MAQUOKETA, WON A $10,000 INSTANT-SCRATCH LOTTERY PRIZE.       HE PURCHASED THE TICKET AT LEN'S BP CONVENIENCE STORE ON WEST PLATT.

AT ONE TIME, THE  STOP AND GO LIGHT AT MAIN AND PLATT WAS IN THE
MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION.    PROOF IS ABOVE.

IT'S A FACT!    HERBERT HOOVER, A WEST BRANCH NATIVE, WAS THE 31ST PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE FIRST ONE BORN WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER.
