NICE DAY TODAY....HIGH OF 66.

COUNTY ROAD E-17 BETWEEN ANDREW AND SPRINGBROOK WAS CLOSED JUST
AFTER MEMORIAL DAY FOR A BRIDGE REPLACEMENT AND TODAY WAS RE-OPENED.
GOOD NEWS FOR A LOT OF MOTORISTS. JIM SCHROEDER CONSTRUCTION OF
BELLEVUE DID THE BRIDGE REPLACEMENT OVER BRUSH CREEK AT A COST
OF $780,000.

STARTING WITH THE NOVEMBER USAGE,MAQUOKETA MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC UTILITY
CUSTOMERS WILL SEE A DECREASE IN THEIR BILLS. LAST NIGHT, THE MMEU
BOARD DROPPED THE RATES. RESIDENTIAL AND INDUSTRIAL CUSTOMERS WILL SEE
A 5-PERCENT REDUCTION AND COMMERCIAL CUSTOMERS WILL GET A 15-PERCENT
REDUCTION. THERE HAVE BEEN LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT ELECTRIC RATES
IN MAQUOKETA AND THIS WAS GOOD NEWS TODAY.

THE MAQUOKETA FOOTBALL TEAM IS RATED 8TH IN THE STATE.

WESTERN DUBUQUE COMES TO TOWN TOMORROW NIGHT.
