THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL  FINANCE COMMITTEE WILL RECOMMEND TO THE FULL COUNCIL TO PAY THE SCOTT COUNTY YMCA $178,000 A YEAR TO OPERATE THE YMCA AND THE CITY'S RECREATION PROGRAM.     THE Y ASKED FOR $225,000.
THE CITY THUS FAR HAS BUDGETED $175,000.    

ON POLICE BLOTTER, IT WAS REPORTED YESTERDAY THAT VANDALISM WAS DONE TO SOME STONES AT MT. HOPE CEMETERY.
AND WENDY SCHUELLER REPORTED LAST NIGHT THAT HER HOME ON THOMAS
AVENUE WAS EGGED.

BRADLEY THIEDE, 51,  OF BETTENDORF (BORN IN MAQUOKETA) DIED TUESDAY
