INTRODUCING....
 THE TWO NEW MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCILMAN
NATHAN WOODWARD, CO-OWNER OF "SQUIRES MANOR BED AND BREAKFAST"....SHOWN IN THE DINING ROOM GETTING READY FOR CHRISTMAS.
CAME TO MAQUOKETA FROM CALIFORNIA TWO YEARS AGO AND LOVES MAQUOKETA AND BELIEVES
IS HAS A GREAT FUTURE IN TOURISM.    WAS IN PEACE PIPE PLAYERS PRODUCTION OF "OUR TOWN" IN OCTOBER AND IS INTERESTED IN STARTING A FILMFEST IN MAQUOKETA.    HE STARTS ON THE COUNCIL IN EARLY JANUARY AND WAS APPOINTED BY THE COUNCIL TO FILL THE TERM OF A MEMBER
THAT RESIGNED THIS SUMMER.
DAN  HOLM YESTERDAY DEFEATED INCUMBANT RON
HORAN.    HE MARRIED MAQUOKETA NATIVE DEB
DURKOP AND LIVED IN MAQUOKETA IN THE 80'S.
THEY THEN MOVED TO SAN FRANCISCO WHERE THEY WERE STEWARDS (BUTLERS) FOR VERY RICH
FOLKS THAT LIVED IN THE RURAL AREA FO S.F.
DURING 20 YEARS, THEY WORKED FOR 3 DIFFERENT
FAMILIES, TAKING CARE OF EVERY DETAIL OF 
LIFE.    DEB IN CHARGE OF INSIDE THE HOME AND 
DAN THE OUTSIDE.   THEY NORMALLY HAD A STAFF
OF 8 T0 10.    THE R ICH  COUPLE OR FAMILY SIMPLY WANTED TO ENJOY THEIR MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR HOME, AND LEAVE THE CHORES TO THEIR BUTLER
STAFF. 
NOW DAN AND DEB WORK DURING SUMMER MONTHS
FOR THE "CODFISH HOLLOW BARN".   

ALSO YESTERDAY IN THE ELECTION, INCUMBANT
KEVIN KUHLMAN DEFEATED RICHARD RICKERL.

RUMOR AROUND....THAT THE DECKER HOTEL AND
RESTAURANT IS CLOSING.  NOT SO SAYS THE
OWNER.

THIS NOT A RUMOR...BUT NO DETAILS YET.
"SWEET THINGS BAKERY" DOWNTOWN HAS
BEEN SOLD.    NOW OPEN ONLY 3 DAYS A WEEK...
WILL BE OPEN MORE WITH EXCITING PLANS.
