THURSDAY DAILY

MAIN AND PLATT REOPENS MONDAY AFTERNOON AT 5 P.M.   THAT WAS
LEARNED AT 8 THIS MORNING AT THE WEEKLY UPDATE MEETING AT CITY  HALL.   SEE BELOW.    NOTE  ABOVE, THE STOP LIGHTS (GREEN SHOWING) ARE WORKING.     THERE WILL BE A "CAUTION TAPE CUTTING CEREMONY"
AT 5 P.M. MONDAY.   ALL WELCOME.
PLEASANT AND MAIN INTERSECTION THIS AFTERNOON.   THE PROJECT
GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN PLEASANT TO THE MILL BUILDING EAST CORNER.
THIS AFTERNOON IN FRONT OF THEATRE.   THE  EASY WAY TO GET TO THE
THEATRE IS TO PARK BEHIND THE THEATRE, WALK THROUGH THE HURST
HOTEL APARTMENTS PARKING LOT TO MAIN STREET AND  THEN WALK ON
THE GRAVEL SIDEWALK TO THE FRONT DOOR ENTRANCE.
LOOKING WEST ON WEST PLEASANT STREET.   I WAS HAPPY TO SEE
THE RE-CONSTRUCTION WILL GO FURTHER WEST THAN THE PLANNED HALF-WAY DOWN THE BLOCK.    PROJECT NOW ENDS AT THE WEST SIDE OF THE MAYBERRY APPLIANCE PARKING LOT.

ABOVE, NEW  BUSINESS...PUNKY'S...ON EAST PLATT STREET....CONSIGNMENT AND RE-SALE STORE.      LOCATED EAST OF KIRBY'S COMPUTER REPAIR.

TWO BUSINESS PLACES IN SAME BUILDING ON SOUTH MAIN.   MR. FINN OWNS THE MARTIAL ARTS BUSINESS AND MRS. FINN, THE ALEXANDER'S RAG'S BUSINESS.  NOT NEW TO MAQUOKETA...SAME LOCATION... BUT A NICE NEW COLORFUL FRONT !!

THE DROP BOX BY POST OFFICE WAS MOVED  BEHIND THE POST OFFICE
TODAY.   DONE SO FINAL THINGS COULD BE DONE ON THAT SHORT STREET
ALONG SIDE THE DECKER HOTEL, INCLUDING PAINTING THE PARKING STRIPES.    THE DROP BOX, EAST TO GET TO BEHIND  BUILDING, WILL BE
BACK AT THE NORMAL PLACE SATURDAY.      POSTMASTER  BOB WINEGAR
SAID HE CHECKED INTO A NEW DROP BOX AND THAT THE NEW ONES ARE MUCH LARGER AND WOULD NOT WORK WHERE THE PRESENT ONE IS.
NOW,  HE'S PLANNING TO GET THE OLD ONE RE-DONE TO LOOK LIKE NEW.
