THURSDAY DAILY

YESTERDAY, THE TWO TRAFFIC LANES OF MAIN STREET, FROM QUARRY
ALL THE WAY SOUTH TO PLATT STREET WERE POURED.   NEXT WEEK THEY
WILL PAVE THE PARKING LANES ON BOTH SIDES.    THEN THE SIDEWALKS.
THE CANVAS COVERINGS WERE PUT ON THE FRESHCONCRETE LATE YESTERDAY BECAUSE OF HEAVY RAIN FORECAST LAST NIGHT, BUT WERE NOT NEEDED AS WE DID NOT GET THE RAIN.    THE CANVAS IS DRYING TODAY.

THIS PAST TUESDAY, THE MAQUOKETA FARMERS MARKET CELEBRATED CHRISTMAS IN JULY.    THERE WERE COSTUMES, DECORATIONS IN EVERY VENDOR BOOTH, HOLIDAY MUSIC BY "MOMMA J" WITH HER SISTER, THE
SISTER FROM ROME, AND AN ALL AROUND HOLIDAY SPIRIT EVERYWHERE.
EACH VENDOR CONTRIBUTED TO A NICE CHRISTMAS GIFT (ON TABLE ABOVE) AND THE WINNER WAS DELENA ACTON OF MAQUOKETA.
WE HAVE ONE OF THE BEST SMALL COMMUNITY FARMERS MARKET IN
THE STATE...EVERY TUESDAY AT OHNWARD'S PARKING LOT ON EAST PLATT STREET.
