FRIDAY DAILY

WEDNESDAY NIGHT THE MAQUOKETA ROTARY CLUB ANNUAL ICE CREAM
SOCIAL AND BAND CONCERT WAS HELD AT THE FAIRGROUNDS.
THE FIRST ONE WAS IN 1976 DURING MAQUOKETA'S BI-CENTENNIAL
ONE-WEEK CELEBRATION OF THE U.S. 200TH BIRTHDAY.    ROTARY HAS
NEVER MISSED A YEAR.    MOST OF THOSE YEARS, IT WAS HELD IN THE
FIRST WARD PARK AND WE MADE HOME MADE ICE CREAM.     ROTORIAN  TED MAZE HAS BEEN CHAIRMAN OF IT FOR A LONG LONG TIME.

IN THE EARLY YEARS, IT WAS THE AUSTIN AVENUE COMMUNITY BAND.
