TUESDAY DAILY REPORT

IT RAINED MOST OF TODAY.   HIGH OF 54.
MORE RAIN TONIGHT AND TOMORROW.
THURSDAY, SUNNY AND 44.
FRIDAY, MOSTLY SUNNY AND 40.

MAQUOKETA BETTERMENT CORPORATION YESTERDAY HOSTED A FACT-FINDING MEETING IN DES MOINES WITH THE GOVERNOR AND
MANY DEPARTMENT HEADS.   THE FOCUS OF THE TRIP WAS TO MAKE
CONNECTIONS, DEVELOP RELATIONSHIPS AND LEARN ABOUT FUNDING
OPPORTUNITIES FOR DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION.
ATTENDING THE MONDAY MEETING, NIC HOCKENBERRY AND DAVE HEIAR
FROM JACKSON COUNTY ECONOMIC ALLIANCE....JOSH SMITH, PLANT
MANAGER OF HUSCO INTERNATIONAL IN MAQUOKETA ....JERRY HUGUELET AND JOHN GRONEN FROM GRONEN PROPERTIES OF DUBUQUE....MAQUOKETA CITY MANAGER BRIAN WAGNER....AND CHUCK CURRENT FROM OHNWARD BANCSHARES AND MAQUOKETA BETTERMENT
CORPORATION.

AT THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETING LAST NIGHT, GIRLS AND BOYS CROSS COUNTRY COACH SARA NELSON SUBMITTED HER LETTER OF RESIGNATION.
SHE WILL CONTINUE COACHING VARSITY SOFTBALL AND THE JOB OF
PE TEACHER AT BRIGGS ELEMENTARY.

TERRY AND KAREN SLATTERY WILL AGAIN BE THE VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS OF THE SALVATION ARMY RED KETTLE DRIVE THIS
CHRISTMAS SEASON IN MAQUOKETA.   IT WILL START THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING AT FAREWAY AND WAL MART.    LAST YEAR, $16,000 WAS
RAISED IN MAQUOKETA AND 70% STAYS HERE.    VOLUNTEERS ARE
SIGNING UP NOW WITH VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS TO RING THE BELL
DAILY.

WE STARTED PLAYING A FEW CHRISTMAS CAROLS TODAY....

'TIS THE HOLIDAY SEASON....ALL WE NEED IS SOME SNOW TO GET
EVERYONE IN A SHOPPING MOOD.
