WEDNESDAY DAILY REPORT

MOSTLY SUNNY AND HIGH OF 65 TODAY.

THE MAQUOKETA OPTIMIST CLUB HAS ANNOUNCED THE NEW OFFICERS
AND BOARD MEMBERS FOR THE 2015-2016 CLUB YEAR, WHICH BEGINS
IN OCTOBER.       PRESIDENT, GLENN SHORT....PRESIDENT-ELECT,
JANE SCHMIDT....SECRETARY, JUDY BICKFORD AND TREASURER, JAMIE
FRETT.
BOARD MEMBERS:   TOM PETEROS, KATE KRABBENHOFT, JOSH COLLISTER,
LOIS FISCHER, CAROL HAMMILL AND JIM REGENWETHER.
THE MAQUOKETA OPTIMIST CLUB MEETS AT 7:00 A.M. ON WEDNESDAY
MORNINGS AT THE EAGLES CLUB IN MAQUOKETA.     NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME.     CONTACT ANY ON THE MEMBERS OR VISIT A
WEDNESDAY MORNING CLUB MEETING AND CHECK OUT WHAT THE
MAQUOKETA OPTIMIST CLUB OFFERS.
GET READY FOR LOTS OF MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL AND
SOFTBALL GAMES.... EVENINGS AT THE ABOVE COMPLEX.

TODAY, THE JACKSON COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATED A BURGLARY AT 9457  182ND AVENUE, MAQUOKETA.   TAKEN WERE A CHAINSAW, AIR COMPRESSOR, ALONG WITH NUMEROUS POWER TOOLS, WRENCHES, AND SOCKET SETS.    TOTAL VALUE OF THE ITEMS TAKEN EXCEEDED $5,000.
THE INVESTIGATION LED TO THE ARREST OF THREE MEN FROM MAQUOKETA.
NATHAN D. HAYLOCK, AGE 26....TRAVIS J. HAYLOCK, AGE 29 AND MATTHEW P. LASLEY, AGE 29.   ALL 3 WERE CHARGED WITH BURGLARY IN THE THIRD DEGREE AND CONSPIRACY TO COMMIT THIRD DEGREE BURGLARY.

THE AWARDING OF SCHLORSHIPS ASSEMBLY WAS HELD THIS MORNING
AT THE MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL GYM.   OVER $525,000 IN SCHLORSHIPS  WERE PRESENTED TO OVER 90 GRADUATES.   THAT FIGURE INCLUDES
AROUND $100,000 IN SCHLORSHIPS THAT WERE LOCAL ONES.

SEUSSICAL JR. WILL BE PRESENTED BY OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER
IN MAQUOKETA ON AUGUST 8TH AND 9TH.   IT WILL BE DIRECTED BY
OHNWARD EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR RICH HALL.     AUDITIONS WILL BE
HELD MONDAY, JULY 13TH AT OHNWARD.     THERE WILL BE LOTS OF PARTS FOR AGES 8 TO 18, BOTH MALE AND FEMALE.    IT WILL BE AN EDUCATIONAL
EXPERIENCE FOR THE KIDS AND SO THERE WILL BE A COST OF $35 FOR EACH KID.     THE COST COVERS MUSIC, SCRIPTS, SCENERY, A  T-SHIRT, ALL REHEARSALS AND WORKSHOPS.   ANY QUESTIONS, CALL RICH HALL
