THURSDAY DAILY REPORT

SUNNY AND COLD,  HIGH TODAY 15.
STILL CALLING FOR COLD WEEKEND,INCLUDING LOW SATURDAY NIGHT OF
MINUS 10.

THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD THIS WEEK HIRED JAN WAGNER FOR A NEW POSITION AS ASSISTANT TO THE PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR AND SHE
WILL ALSO BE THE DISTRICT REGISTRAR.    SHE WORKED FOR LORAS COLLEGE FOR OVER 20 YEARS UNTIL 2013 AND HAS BEEN THE "ON LEAVE OF ABSENCE COORDINATOR" FOR SEDGWICK CMS IN DUBUQUE.   THERE WERE
41 APPLICANTS FOR THE JOB.
ALSO AT THE SCHOOL BOARD MEETING, THE "FRIENDS OF GOODENOW FIELD" PRESENTED PLANS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO THE FOOTBALL AND SOCCER COMPLEX AT A COST OF OVER $300,000.      PLANS CALL FOR
TREES, A NEW FENCE, SIDEWALKS, A GATEWAY ENTRANCE, BRICK AND STONE TICKET BOOTH AND MORE.

FLORIAN STEFFEN, IN MIDDLE ABOVE, SURROUNDED BY MANY MAQUOKETA STATE BANK EMPLOYEES IN THIS RECENT CONTRIBUTED PHOTO, IS RETIRING AFTER 41 YEARS.  THERE WILL BE AN "OPEN HOUSE"  FOR STAFF AND THE PUBLIC FROM 2 UNTIL 4 TOMORROW (FRIDAY) AFTERNOON AT THE
MAIN DOWNTOWN BANK.   HE STARTED IN THE LOAN DEPARTMENT AND
ENDED UP BEING PRESIDENT.   STOP IN AND WISH  HIM WELL.

ABOVE...."SPONGEBOB"...THE #1 MOVIE IN THE COUNTRY....GOES INTO WEEK
#2 TOMORROW AT THE VOY 3 THEATRE.

HELD OVER FOR ANOTHER BIG WEEK..."THE AMERICAN SNIPER"...AT THE
VOY 3 THEATRE.    HAS BEEN DONG BIG BUSINESS HERE.    AND EVERYONE LIKES
