MONDAY DAILY REPORT

COLD SUNDAY.
10 BELOW LAST NIGHT.
10 ABOVE TODAY.
32 TOMORROW.
THEN COLD AGAIN WEDNESDAY.

THE GIRLS STATE BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT IS NEXT WEEK IN DES MOINES.
AND THERE WILL BE NO TEAM FROM THE KMAQ AREA THERE.

TONIGHT, THE MAQUOKETA BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM  WILL PLAY A TOURNAMENT GAME  AT DEWITT, AT 6:30, AGAINST DAVENPORT ASSUMPTION.    MATT CLARK WILL GO ON THE AIR AT 6:15 ON KMAQ-FM
AND OUR HOME WEB PAGE.    HE WILL ALSO DO THE DEWITT GAME AT 8.

WE HAD ONLY ONE HIGH SCHOOL BOWLER FROM THE KMAQ AREA IN THE
BOYS/GIRLS STATE BOWLING TOURNAMENT TODAY  IN DES MOINES.  CENTRAL DEWITT BOWLER SHELBY CARRIER IN CLASS 1-A MADE HER SECOND STRAIGHT TRIP TO THE TOURNAMENT AND  ROLLED A 177 AND 220 FOR A TWO-GAME HIGH OF 397, GOOD FOR 5TH PLACE.     THE WINNING SCORE WAS 441.   SHELBY DURING THE SEASON AVERAGED 437.

REMEMBER THOSE OLD PHOTOS OF MAQUOKETA THAT I HAD HERE LAST WEEK?   I HAVE HAD A GOOD RESPONSE ABOUT THEM AND WILL
SOON ADD INFORMATION ABOUT THEM, BELOW EACH PHOTO.

THE CLASS OF 65 IS HAVING A CLASS RE-UNION THIS SUMMER AND
THEY ARE STILL LOOKING FOR THE ADDRESS OF JIM SMITH AND
SUE HOLTRY.    EMAIL ME IF YOU  HAVE  EITHER OR BOTH.

SATURDAY NIGHT'S DANCE MARATHON AT MCHS WAS DEEMED A HUGE
SUCCESS.    IT WAS SPONSORED BY CLUB HOPE AND ADVISOR MINDY
ORRIS TOLD KMAQ THAT 650 PEOPLE ENJOYED THE EVENING MEAL AND AT ONE TIME, THERE WAS OVER 1,000 TAKING IN ALL OF THE ACTIVITIES.
MINDY HOPES TO HAVE A "DOLLAR" FIGURE OF MONEY RAISED BY
THIS WEDNESDAY.    PROCEEDS WILL GO TO THE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
AT IOWA CITY.

SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TONIGHT.

MILTON SCHECKEL, 91, OF BELLEVUE DIED YESTERDAY AT MILL VALLEY CARE CENTER IN BELLEVUE.   THE FUNERAL WILL BE SATURAY.   HE FARMED HIS ENTIRE LIFE.    SURVIVORS INCLUDE HIS WIFE ARLETA, THREE SONS, AND TWO DAUGHTERS, INCLUDING GAIL HANLON OF MAQUOKETA.    ALSO 11 GRANDCHILDREN AND 20 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.    HACHMANN FUNERAL HOME IN BELLEVUE IN IN CHARGE OF ALL ARRANGEMENTS.

RUTH KEIL, 87,  OF BELLEVUE, DIED FRIDAY AT   FINLEY HOSPITAL IN
DUBUQUE.    THE FUNERAL WILL BE AT NOON TOMORROW.    HACHMANN FUNERAL HOME IN BELLEVUE IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.
RUTH KEIL IS SURVIVED BY 2 DAUGHTERS, INCLUDING DEBRA EDWARDS OF MAQUOKETA.
