I  HAD THIS PHOTO IN MY DAILY REPORT A FEW DAYS AGO AND IT BROUGHT
LOTS OF COMMENTS.    TODAY, I FINIALLY FOUND OUT WHO THE PERSON
IS IN THIS PHOTO.
CONNIE BEHRENS EMAILED ME AND SAID THE MAN IN THE PHOTO ABOVE IS HER GRANDFATHER, MAX ANDRESEN.    SHE SAID HIS STORE WAS IN
BALDWIN AND THAT SHE NEVER HEARD THE NAME OF IT OTHER THAN
THE BALDWIN STORE.    THANKS FOR THE EMAIL CONNIE!   WONDER
ABOUT WHAT YEAR THAT PHOTO WAS TAKEN?

A MAQUOKETA MAN WHO HAS SPENT NEARLY 30 YEARS IN PRISON FOR A MURDER COMMITTED IN 1984 IN MAQUOKETA WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR PAROLE.
DURING A RE-SENTENCING HEARING YESTERDAY MORNING, JUDGE MARK
SMITH RULLED MITCHELL RONEK, NOW 47, HAS BEEN RE-SENTENCED TO LIFE IN PRISON WITH A MINIMUM OF 25 YEARS AND ELIGIBLE FOR PAROLE WITH CREDIT FOR TIME SERVED.
HE WAS SENTENCED IN APRIL OF 1985 FOR MURDERING THOMAS GOODWIN OF MAQUOKETA ON OCTOBER 8, 1984 IN THE BAR (HOTEL HAD ONE THEN) AT THE HURST HOTEL IN MAQUOKETA.
THE RE-SENTENCE CAME ABOUT AFTER THE FEDERAL AND STATE COURTS RULED IT WAS UNCONSTITUTIONAL THAT JUVENILES WERE SENT TO PRISON WITHOUT PAROLE.

BACK TO SPORTS, THURSDAY NIGHT, THE MAQUOKETA CARDINAL GIRLS
