LAST NIGHT, 3/10TH INCH OF RAIN.
LIGHT RAIN ON AND OFF TODAY.
THE RAIN IS OVER FOR A FEW DAYS.
HIGH TODAY, 77.
HIGH TOMORROW, 67.    LATE JULY AND 67....PRETTY UNUSUAL.

THE CORNBOX IS  VERY POPULAR AT THE FAIR!
A CORNBOX...NOT A SANDBOX.
THERE IS A CAMEL AT THE FAIR!
AS OF THIS MORNING, FAIR ATTENDANCE IS NEARLY 2,000 AHEAD OF
LAST YEAR.
TONIGHT, THE TRUCK AND TRACTOR PULL
THERE WERE FIVE $100 WINNERS LAST NIGHT IN THE CASH DRAWING AND ONLY ONE WAS FROM MAQUOKETA, KASEY McFARLAND.

THERE IS NOW A FENCE AROUND LITTLE BEAR PARK.   THE  OLD PARK
WILL BE DEMOLISHED MONDAY.    THE GROUNDBREAK FOR THE NEW
ONE WILL BE AT 9 A.M. MONDAY.    CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW LITTLE BEAR PARK WILL BE DONE BY VOLUNTEERS SEPTEMBER 10-15.
MONEY IS STILL NEEDED.    ONE CAN DONATE MONEY OR SIGN-UP TO
WORK AT CITY HALL.

FLOWER SHOW JUDGING WAS  DONE THIS AFTERNOON AND A GREAT
ASSORTMENT OF FLOWERS CAN NOW BE VIEWED AT THE FAIR.

THE FIRST ANNUAL HOT DOG EATING CONTEST IS SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT 5 P.M.   SIGN-UP AT THE FAIRBOARD OFFICE.     AN ADULT DIVISION AND
FOUR YOUTH DIVISIONS.
