APRIL RAIN IN IOWA WAS THE MOST EVER....DATING BACK 140 YEARS WHEN
LOGGING WEATHER STARTED.   MAY WILL PROBABLY BE THE SAME.

TODAY, OVERCAST SKIES MOST OF TODAY, NO RAIN, AND HIGH MID 70'S.
THE SUN IS SHINING BRIGHTLY NOW AT 2:15 P.M.
TOMORROW,  AND FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS, LITTLE OR NO RAIN AND
SUNNY WITH NICE TEMPERATURES.

A COUPLE IN DENMARK (AND READERS OF THIS DAILY REPORT) SENT IN THEIR $10 FOR TWO ROTARY DUCKS.    THEY HAD TO GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO DO SO AND I THANK THEM.    I  GOT THE MONEY TODAY.   THEY FIRST HAD TO GO TO THEIR BANK IN DENMARK TO GET TWO U.S. $5 BILLS TO SEND.   NEXT,  HAD TO PAY OVERSEAS POSTAGE TO SEND THE BILLS.    THEY  HAVE DONE THIS FOR MANY YEARS.    RELATION OF THE LATE JERRY AND DOROTHY RASMUSSEN.  THANK YOUR AASE AND RICHARD!!

THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD AGREED TO REPAIR AND REPAINT
THE  TENNIS COURTS AT THE JACK MARLOWE ATHLETIC COMPLEX.

NEXT, THEY WANT TO DO REPAIR THE TRACK, AT AN ESTIMATED COST
OF $39,950.    ONE-PERCENT SALES TAX MONEY WILL BE USED.   NO
(OR LITTLE) COST TO TAXPAYERS.

A MAQUOKETA STUDENT'S MOTHER  ASKED THE SCHOOL BOARD TO PAY TO REPLACE HER DAUGHTER'S CELL PHONE WHICH WAS STOLEN AT THE
MIDDLE SCHOOL.   NO ANSWER FOR WHITNEY REKEMEYER.   MEMBERS
TOOK NO ACTION AND SUPT,. HUCKSTADT WILL TALK TO THE SCHOOL'S ATTORNEY ABOUT THE MATTER.

THERE ARE TWO OPENINGS FOR THE SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION
IN SEPTEMBER.   THE POSITIONS OF MARTY HUDRLIK AND BRIAN
TABOR ARE UP FOR ELECTION.   NEITHER HAS DECIDED ON WHETHER TO SEEK RE-ELECTION.
