PAULETTE HORNER, WHO DOES CARDINAL COUNTDOWN ON KMAQ
FROM THE  HIGH SCHOOL WAS COMPLAINING ON-THE-AIR ABOUT THE  HEAT
THIS AFTERNOON....SAID SHE HAD TWO FANS RUNNING IN HER
OFFICE.   

THE HAWKEYES PLAY IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AT 8 TONIGHT
AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN IN NEW YORK AND DILLON O'CONNEL
WILL BE THERE WITH THE TEAM.    DILLON, A 2009 GRAD OF MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL (AND GOOD CARDINAL BASKETBALL PLAYER) IS ONE
OF THE MANAGERS OF THE HAWKEYE TEAM.   HE IS IN HIS SECOND
SEASON DOING THIS ALONG WITH BEING A BUSY STUDENT.   HE ALREADY
HAS A SPORTS MANAGEMENT DEGREE AT IOWA AND IS WORKING  NOW
TOWARD A BUSINESS DEGREE.     HE WILL BE MANAGER AGAIN NEXT YEAR.
THIS IS HIS FIRST VISIT TO THE BIG APPLE.    HIS PARENTS ARE LORAS AND SHELLY O'CONNELL.

TWO VANDALISM REPORTS IN TOWN.     FLOWERS WERE TAKEN FROM A GRAVE AT SACRED HEART CEMETERY AND CHARLIE DIETZ (STILL PAINTING)
REPORTEDD HIS MAILBOX HAS BEEN DAMAGED.

A BIRTH TO ANNOUNCE.   DAVE AND LISA CLARK OF MAQUOKETA ARE GRANDPARENTS FOR THE FIRST TIME.   THEIR SON BOB AND HIS WIFE LISA WELCOMED A BABY BOY TO THEIR FAMILY YESTERDAY.    WEIGHT:  8 POUNDS-13.5. AND 21 INCHES LONG.    THEY LIVE IN ACKLEY, IOWA, WEST OF WATERLOO.     A FUTURE BOWLER??

A LONGTIME MAQUOKETA BUSINESS HAS CHANGED HANDS!    I WILL
HAVE THE STORY WITH PHOTO TOMORROW.
