IT WAS COLD THIS MORNING, 24 , AND JUST INTO THE 30'S TODAY.
TONIGHT, DOWN TO THE TEENS.    STARTING TOMORROW, IT WILL GET A
LITTLE WARMER EACH DAY, RIGHT THROUGH THE WEEKEND.    SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WILL BE AROUND 50 OR SLIGHTLY ABOVE.  NO RAIN OR SNOW
IN THE FORECAST FOR THE ENTIRE WEEK.    NORMALLY IN NOVEMBER,
WE GET UP TO A COUPLE INCHES OF SNOW, BUT NOT THIS MONTH.   WE WILL BE NEEDING  SNOW OVER THE WINTER MONTHS.

TWO DOZEN DOGS DISPLACED FROM THEIR OWNERS DURING HURRICANE SANDY ARRIVED AT THE JACKSON COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY THIS WEEKEND.     SOCIETY PRESIDENT SHIRLEY SHOLTES OF BELLEVUE SAID THEY HAD THE ROOM TO HANDLE THE VARIETY OF DOGS.   SOME OF THE DOGS CAME FROM OVERCROWDED EAST COAST SHELTERS WHERE THEY WERE ABOUT TO BE EUTHENIZED.    THE DOGS WERE DRIVEN TO MAQUOKETA BY VOLUNTEERS AT THE MIAMI DADE ANIMAL SERVICES IN
FLORIDA.    THERE ARE SEVERAL CHIHUAHUAS, A DOBERMAN-PINCHER PUP,
BLACK YELLOW AND BRINDLE LABS, SEVERAL TERRIERS, AN AUSTRALIAN KELPIE AND A KOREAN JINDO.       THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE AT THE
SOCIETY SHELTER JUST NORTHEAST OF MAQUOKETA FOR $70.   ANY QUESTIONS, CALL 563-652-5360.

CARDINAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL INVITES AREA VETERANS TO A 9 A.M.
ASSEMBLY THIS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH.    AUTHOR AND KWQC NEWS ANCHOR GARY METIVIER WILL PRESENT A PROGRAM.    HE RECENTLY WROTE A BOOK THAT FOCUSES ON THE HONOR FLIGHTS TO WASHINGTON, D.C.    CARDINAL STAFF AND STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN STUDENTS
FOR BREAKFAST AT 8 THAT MORNING...FREE TO VETERANS AND $2.10 FOR  OTHERS.   RSVP TO 652-4996.    THE PROGRAM WILL BE REPEATED AT
10:30 A.M. AT BRIGG'S SCHOOL.

THE DRIVE-THRU HOLIDAY DISPLAY IS OPEN AT LOUIS MURPHY PARK AT THE SOUTH EDGE OF DUBUQUE.    5 UNTIL 10 P.M. DAILY.  TAKE THE GRANDVIEW EXIT AND TURN RIGHT AT GRANDVIEW.     $8 A VEHICLE.
