NICE DAY.....BUT ONLY 50 HIGH.

PAUL MARIMAN IS THE NEW REGIONAL EXTENSION EDUCATION
DIRECTOR FOR JACKSON, DUBUQUE AND DELAWARE COUNTIES.
HE WILL HAVE HIS OFFICE IN DUBUQUE.
EXTENTION CONTINUES TO BE BIG IN 4-H....MASTER GARDNER AND
OTHER  HOME AND AG PROGRAMS.
OFFICE IS IN THE BASEMENT OF THE JACKSON COUNTY COURTHOUSE.
YOU ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO STOP DOWN AND HAVE THEM EXPLAIN
WAYS THEY CAN HELP YOU LIVE BETTER IN YOUR HOME AND AT YOUR FARM.

THE OTHER DAY, I  HAD UP  HERE, AN OLD PICTURE OF A LONG-AGO JACKSON COUNTY  STORE.     I ASKED IF ANYONE COULD TELL WHERE IT WAS LOCATED. THE FIRST PERSON EMAILED IRON HILL AND THEN I GOT A CALL FROM NANCY HENTON SCHOLL OF  DAHLONAGA, GEORGIA.   SHE KNEW IT WAS FULTON BECAUSE HER DAD, RED, GREW UP THERE.    SHE AND HUSBAND, DR. ROBERT (OPTOMITRIST) HAVE LIVED DOWN SOUTH  SINCE 2005.    ROBERT IS SEMI-RETIRED.    HIS LATE FATHER LONG AGO OWNED SCHOLL'S  FOOTWEAR AND HOSIERY IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA.    HIS BROTHERS WERE CHUCK AND JOHN.    NANCY WAS AND STILL IS A GOOD SINGER AND WAS A VERY GOOD HORSESHOE PITCHER LIKE HER DAD.
HER SISTER JUDY LIVES IN CLINTON.    HER DAD RED, WAS CARELESS AND
FELL BY HIS BOAT WHILE FISHING IN BELLEVUE A WEEK OR SO AGO.
HE SAID IT HURT BAD....HE DIDN'T SEE A DOCTOR AND THE TWO RIBS ARE
MENDING NICELY.

TWO VEHICLES COLLIDED ON 82ND AVENUE, 6 MILES NORTHWEST OF
MAQUOKETA AT 9 YESTERDAY MORNING.    ONE OF THE DRIVERS WAS JOE DIRKS, AGE 25, OF MAQUOKETA.    DUST IN AREA WAS CAUSING
LIMITED VISIBILITY AND THEREFORE NO CHARGES WERE FILED AND NO INJURIES.

SPAIN OIL (50 YEARS AGO, DARNELL OIL) HAD  A GASOLENE DRIVE-OFF YESTERDAY AFTERNOON....$40 NOT PAID.

THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS VOLLEYBALL TEAM (8TH RANKED) LAST NIGHT DEFEATED DEWITT, INDEPENDENCE AND CLEAR CREEK-AMANA  AT THE WAMAC TOURNAMENT POOL.    TOMORROW NIGHT, THE PLAY IN BRACKET-PLAY AT MT. VERNON.

JUST 8 SEATS LEFT ON THE KMAQ BUS TO BRANSON IN LATE NOVEMBER.

HAVE A NICE WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THURSDAY.

WHEN YOU SEE A 4-H MEMBER...GIVE A PAT ON THE BACK FOR GOOD THINGS THEY DO.   IT IS NATIONAL 4-H WEEK.
