HOPE YOU CAN MAKE IT.

BOTH TEAMS VERY EQUAL.
BUT MAQUOKETA HAS THE HOME-COURT ADVANTAGE.
THE GAME STARTS AT 7:30 AND WILL NOT BE BROADCAST.
IT WILL BE "WHITE-OUT" NIGHT AT THE GYM......ALL CARDINAL FANS
ARE BEING ENCOURAGED TO WERE WHITE TONIGHT.

THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIKL LAST NIGHT APPROVED APPLYING FOR
A DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES GRANT THROUGH A DIAMOND VOGEL PAINT PROGRAM (PLUS SOME HOPEFUL FUNDING FROM THE DUBUQUE RACING

MENTIONED THAT THE CITY PLANS TO TAKE THE OPERATIONS OF THE CENTER BACK FROM THE YMCA. THE BUILDING, WITH TWO FLOORS, IS LOCATED
ACROSS FROM GOODENOW FOOTBALL FIELD AND NEXT TO THE OLD CITY

A BIRTH:
MONICA NIESS AND SELIM SANDOVAL OF SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO ARE
PARENTS OF A GIRL, BORN JANUARY 22ND. GRANDPARENTS ARE GENI
AND DARRALD CARR OF FULTON, IOWA. GENI SAID DARRALD AND HER
RECENTLY TOOK THE AMTRAK TRAIN FROM GALESBURG TO SANTA FE
TO VISIT MONICA AND FAMILY, INCLUDING THE NEW BABY SOFIA. GENI SAID
THEY ENJOYED THE TRAIN RIDE (THEIR FIRST) AND SHE SAID OF COURSE
THE BABY WAS PRECIOUS. GENI, LONGTIME EMPLOYEE AT OSTERHAUS
PHARMACY (AND THE VOICE OF MANY OF THEIR COMMERCIALS ON KMAQ)(DARRALD , RETIRED, WAS THE MEAT DEPARTMENT MANAGER AT FAREWAY) SAID SOFIA IS THE #5 GRANDCHILD FOR THEM AND 2 MORE ARE ON THE WAY THIS SUMMER. AND GENI SAID WHILE ON THEIR TRIP TO
SANTA FE, SHE KEEP UP ON MAQUOKETA NEWS BY BRINGING IN THIS
DAILY REPORT WHILE ON VACATION.
AND YES...THEY ENJOYED THE AMTRAK RIDE. HAD ONE GREAT
DINNER IN THE DINING CAR.
SOMETIME, KMAQ TRAVEL WILL SPONSOR AN AMTRAK TRIP.
I'M SURE THERE ARE MANY AROUND HER LIKE ME...THAT HAVE NEVER
BEEN ON ONE. LOWELL CARLSON, RETIRED JACKSON COUNTY NEWSPAPERMAN, HAS TAKEN MANY AND HAS NOTHING BUT GOOD THINGS TO SAY ABOUT RIDING THE RAILS.
