TEXAS GOVERNOR RICK PERRY, CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT, SPENT ONE
HOUR IN MAQUOKETA TODAY. THERE WERE TWO BUSES, ONE FOR THE PRESS AND THE OTHER FOR GOV PERRY AND HIS FRIEND, GOV BOBBY JINDAL OF
LOUISIANA, CAMPAIGNING FOR PERRY IN EASTERN IOWA TODAY. THE
EVENT TOOK PLACE AT THE DECKER HOTEL, ACROSS FROM KMAQ.....IN
THE SMALL LOBBY. IT WAS PACKED. TOP PHOTO, GOV PERRY INTRODUCES
GOV JINDAL.
NEXT PHOTO, GOV JINDAL ADDRESSES THE CROWD OF MAQUOKETA AND
JACKSON COUNTY REPUBLICANS.
NEXT TWO PHOTOS, OF PERRY'S BUS BEHIND THE BUS THAT ARRIVED WITH THE
PRESS CORPS TEN MINUTES EARLIER. THE BOTTOM PHOTO IS GOV PERRY
TALKING TO THE GROUP.
I DID A 'LIVE" REPORT OVER KMAQ-FM WITH MY CELL PHONE AND SAID TO GOV PERRY....'WELCOME TO MAQUOKETA", AND HE RESPONDED THAT HE WAS GLAD TO BE HERE.
SO, IF HE IS ELECTED PRESIDENT, WE CAN ALWAYS SAY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES WAS INTERVIEWED ON KMAQ. THERE WERE 6 OR 7 MAQUOKETA COLLEGE STUDENTS ON-BREAK, PROTESTING WITH 3 SIGNS
....ONE SAYING TO CONTINUE CHURCH/RELIGION SEPARATION... AND
ANOTHER READ...."NOT AGAIN" AND THE YOUNG MAN SAID THAT MENT
NOT ANOTHER TEXAN FOR PRESIDENT.
A LITTLE EXCITEMENT IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA TODAY.
AFTER JANUARY 3RD, THE HAWKEYE STATE GOES BACK TO NORMAL.
THE POLLS SAY THAT IF THE CAUCUS WAS TODAY, CONG RON PAUL WOULD
BE THE WINNER.
OH YES....I SAW STATE SENATOR TOD BOWMAN (D) OF MAQUOKETA AT THE
EVENT THIS MORNING.
