ANOTHER NICE DAY.

GOV. TERRY BRANSTAD IS ASKING PRESIDENT OBAMA TO DECLARE JACKSON AND
DUBUQUE COUNTIES AS MAJOR DISASTER AREAS. STORMS DUMPED MORE THAN
A FOOT OF RAIN ON THE TWO COUNTIES LAST MONTH.

ON THE POLICE BLOTTER:
SHERYL BATSON OF THE HURST HOTEL APARTMENTS SAID SOMEONE TRIED TO
BREAK INTO HER APARTMENT AND STORAGE AREA YESTERDAY.
AND ROBERT CRITTER SAID HIS CAR WAS VANDALIZED WHILE PARKED AT
WALMART OVERNIGHT.

ALLAN SCOTT, 61, OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS DIED SUNDAY AFTER A BATTLE WITH CANCER.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, THREE CHILDREN, TWO BROTHERS, DAVID SCOTT OF
MAQUOKETA AND KERRY SCOTT OF BALDWIN AND A TWO SISTERS, INCLUDING
PATRICIA CAHILL OF DELMAR.'
