TWO BUILDINGS WERE GIVEN NEW BRICK FRONTS. THIS IS THE BUILDING TO THE LEFT. PARKING LOT AND ALLEY AT LEFT OF BUILDING.
THE FURNITURE STORE TOOK UP BOTH BUILDINGS, BUT I THINK THERE COULD
BE A BUSINESS IN EITHER OF THE TWO, IF BOTH WOULD BE TOO BIG FOR
A BUSINESS.
WE NEED A FURNITURE STORE (NON LEFT IN JACKSON COUNTY)....SO I WOULD
LIKE TO SEE A NEW FURNITURE STORE GO BACK INTO THE SIDE-BY-SIDE
BUILDINGS, NOW WITH NEW BRICK FRONT.
DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA NEEDS MORE ACTIVITY AND THIS PROJECT JUST
COMPLETED WILL HOPEFULLY GET RENTED AND HELP MATTERS.
CLICK-ON BUILDING TO ENLARGE IT,
DENNIS VOY.

  1. well if people wouldn't want an arm and a leg for rent, then yeah maybe we would have lovely places to go to and shop! Times are not the best yet, and high rent isn't going to bring in the bacon.

  3. It seems to have been like this for many years. I have been away from Maquoketa for nearly 15 years yet the news travels. The business owners have experience in one thing for sure. The people charged with the task of bringing good business are experts in chasing it away.
