THE ANNUAL JACKSON COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY VOLUNTEER DINNER WAS
HELD THIS NOON AT THE CLINTON ENGINES MUSEUM IN MAQUOKETA.
ROSE NOONAN WAS THE EMCEE, FILLING IN FOR PRESIDENT DAVE STOCKHAM.
THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE DINNER WAS THE NAMING OF THE GRACE TUBBS VOLUNTEER SUMMIT AWARD WINNER, PRESENTED BY THE TUBBS FAMILY IN MEMORY OF THEIR MOTHER WHO WAS AN ACTIVE VOLUNTEER IN MAQUOKETA
AND JACKSON COUNTY. THE AWARD WAS PRESENTED TO CAROLINE BREDEKAMP
OF SPRAGUEVILLE, THE 13TH PERSON TO GET IT. SHE RECEIVED $500 TO
GIVE TO HER FAVORITE CHARITIES AND A MANTEL CLOCK. SHE IS CITY LIBRARIAN
AT PRESTON, A MEMBER OF THE SPRAGUEVILLE TOWN COUNCIL, A BOARD MEMBER OF THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND HAS BEEN VERY ACTIVE IN MANY
ORGANIZATIONS, INCLUDING THE GROUP THAT WORKED YEARS TO RESTORE THE ONE ROOM SCHOOL HOUSE NEAR SPRAGUEVILLE.

CONGRATULATIONS TO CAROLINE ON THE WELL DESERVED HONOR AND THANKS TO THE TUBBS FAMILY FOR SPONSORING THIS ANNUAL VOLUNTEER AWARD. THEY ALSO GIVE THREE OR FOUR SCHOLARSHIPS A YEAR.
