BE AWARDED TOMORROW, GIVEN ANNUALLY BY THE MAQUOKETA ROTARY
CLUB AND THE MAQUOKETA AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL GAME LAST NIGHT, THE MAQUOKETA BOYS
LOST TO WESTERN DUBUQUE, AT EPWORTH, 52 TO 27. JON BOPES WAS LEADING
SCORER FOR THE CARDINALS WITH 8 POINTS.

CONGRATULATIONS TO DON AND BETTY HENNINGSEN, FORMER MAQUOKETA
RESIDENTS, WHO CELEBRATED THEIR 65TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY ON JANUARY 20TH. THEY WERE MARRIED AT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN DEWITT.
NOW THEY LIVE IN BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, BUT THEY STILL OWN THE
FAMILY FARM EAST OF MAQUOKETA. DON WORKED A LONG TIME FOR THE
JACKSON STATE BANK AND LATER WHEN IT WAS NAMED HAWKEYE BANK.
THEY HAVE TWO CHILDREN AND FOUR GRANDCHILDREN. DAUGHTER NANCY LIVES
IN FLORIDA AND SUSAN LIVES IN COLORADO.

A MAQUOKETA WOMAN, KASEY BARTELS, WON $30,000 IN A IOWA LOTTERY
SCRATCH GAME. SHE BOUGHT THE WINNING TICKET AT THE FAREWAY STORE
HERE IN MAQUOKETA.
