A LITTLE RAIN LAST NIGHT AND MORE THIS MORNING AND NOW THE REST OF THE DAY HAS BEEN CLOUDY AND COOL.   BETTER WEATHER COMING TOMORROW AND
ESPECIALLY MOTHER'S DAY.

THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL APPROVED A REQUEST TO EXCEED THE NOISE
ORDINANCE FOR PERXACTLY BAR IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA ON SUNDAY NIGHTS,
WHEN THEY WILL HAVE KARAOKE MUSIC ON THEIR BACK PATIO FROM 4 UNTIL 10 PM BETWEEN NOW AND OCTOBER.      SO, SOUNDS LIKE THE VERY POPULAR FUN PLACE WILL BE EVEN MORE FUN THIS SUMMER.    WAS THERE LAST NIGHT....GOOD FOOD!

A FARM SPRAYER ROLLED AFTER A TIRE BLEW OUT AROUND 5:30 LAST NIGHT ON THE CAVES ROAD, NORTHWEST OF MAQUOKETA.    IT WAS DRIVEN BY CODY BRUNDAGE, AGE 19, OF MAQUOKETA.    SOME OF THE CONTENTS SPILLED, BUT CONTAINED BY THE MAQUOKETA FIRE DEPARTMENT.     BRUNDAGE WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL
IN MAQUOKETA AND TREATED FOR MINOR INJURIES.    DAMAGE TO THE SPRAYER
WAS ESTIMATED AT $10,000.

JEFF ROCKWELL HIT A DEER THURSDAY ON HIGHWAY 64.

CASEY'S HAD ANOTHER $39 GAS DRIVE-OFF WITHOUT PAYING.

ALL THE MAQUOKETA POSTAL CARRIERS ARE COLLECTING  FOOD FOR THE
MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY CUPBOARD TOMORROW.      THIS IS BEING DOWN NATION
WIDE.

I STILL WAS NOT ABLE TO GET THE DECKER HOTEL SALE STORY TODAY.
MAYBE TOMORROW.

THE MAQUOKETA COUNTRY CLUB MEMBERS LAST NIGHT VOTED TO LEASE
THE RESTAURANT PART OF THE CLUBHOUSE ONLY.    THE PERSON REPORTEDLY
IS GOING TO OPERATE AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT.    THE CLUB WILL CONTINUE TO
RUN THE UPSTAIRS BAR.    MORE DETAILS LATER.      THE RESTAURANT PART HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR QUITE SOME TIME.    COUNTRY CLUBS ARE NOT DOING LIKE
IN THE OLD DAYS.    MAQUOKETA'S MEMBERSHIP AT ONE TIME WAS 400 WITH A WAITING LIST.    NOW, MEMBERSHIP IS LESS THAN HALF OF THAT.   THE MAQUOKTA YMCA ALSO NEEDS MORE MEMBERS.

MT. HOPE CEMETERY IS GETTING A WHITE FENCE SOON.

ROSES ARE RED
VIOLETS ARE BLUE
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOMS
FROM ALL  AT KMAQ.
