MAQUOKETA HAS A HOME DELIVERED MEAL PROGRAM THAT THIS WINTER REPLACED THE MEALS ON WHEELS PROGRAM.    THE OLD OPERATED 365 DAYS A YEAR AND THE FOOD WAS PREPARED BY THE HOSPITAL.     THE NEW PROGRAM RUNS ONLY MONDAY THRU FRIDAY  AND NO HOLIDAYS.     ABOUT 45 USE IT.    BUT, THEY ARE SHORT OF PEOPLE TO DELIVER THE MEALS.     THE DELIVERY IS FROM 11 AM UNTIL NOON.
FOOD IS PREPARED AT THE JACKSON  COUNTY SENIOR CENTER.    ANYONE THAT CAN DELIVER (EVEN JUST ONCE A MONTH) SHOULD CALL AMY AT THE SENIOR CENTER AT 652-6771.

AN ADDITIONAL GRANDSTAND IS BEING BUILT AT THE WEST END OF  THE MAIN GRANDSTAND AT THE FAIRGROUNDS, REPLACING THE BLEACHERS.
WILL BE MUCH NICER AND HOLD MORE PEOPLE.   MOSTLY CONCRETE, IT WAS ACTUALLY PURCHASED AND MOVED HER FROM CANTON.      AND...A NEW BEER STAND AT THE EAST END OF THE GRANDSTAND WILL BE BUILT SOON.
LUMBER IS ALREADY THERE.    IT WILL BE MUCH BIGGER AND BETTER THAN
THE OLD BEER STAND AND WILL BE USED FOR STORAGE AFTER FAIRTIME.
ALL TO MAKE THIS YEAR'S FAIR BIGGER AND BETTER OF COURSE.    LAST WEEKEND
OF JULY, INTO AUGUST.    GRETCHEN WILSON MAIN ENTERTAINER.     AND THERE
WILL BE MORE DONATED BENCHES TOO FOR FAIRGOERS TO REST ON HOT SUMMER DAYS.     MARK THE DATES ON YOUR CALENDAR AND STOP AND VISIT US AT THE KMAQ BOOTH.     MY FIRST YEAR OF BROADCASTING AT THE FAIR WAS IN 1959.
REMEMBER  IT WELL.    KMAQ-AM  WAS CELEBRATING OUR 1ST ANNIVERSARY AT THE FAIR.

NO WORK DONE YET THIS WEEK ON FILLING IN THE BIG HOLE ON MAIN STREET.

HAVE A GOOD NIGHT AND THURSDAY.
