LIGHT RAIN MOST OF TODAY, BUT BECAUSE THE TEMPERATURE WAS A LITTLE
ABOVE FREEZING, ROADS  WERE OK FOR THE MOST PART.
MORE OF THE SAME TONIGHT AND TOMORROW.     RAIN TOMORROW.
SNOW AND SLEET CHRISTMAS EVE AND CHRISTMAS DAY.     NOT A GOOD
FORECAST FOR TRAVELERS.    TWELVE TO 18 INCHES OF SNOW IN NORTHWEST
IOWA.

THE JACKSON COUNTY SUPERVISORS SAY THEY ARE NOT HAPPY (NOR AM I)
WITH GOV. CHET CULVER'S SUGGESTION THAT ROAD USE TAX MONEY BE USED TO FUND THE HIGHWAY PATROL.

AT OUR HOSPITAL IS WORKING WELL, ACCORDING TO CEO CURT  COLEMAN.
TEN OF THE 20 SHIFTS ARE COVERED BY THOSE AND MORE WILL BE COVERED AFTER JANUARY 15TH.
ALSO AT THE HOSPITAL BOARD MEETING LAST NIGHT, COLEMAN REPORTED
THAT FIVE PATIENTS ARE IN THE  DIALYSIS UNIT AT THE NEW MAQUOKETA
KIDNEY CENTER, NOT RUN BY THE HOSPITAL.     THE HOSPITAL RENTS THE SPACE.
MORE HOSPITAL NEWS:   IN FEBRUARY, A UROLOGY CLINIC IS PLANNED BY SANJEEV GUPTA, EMPLOYED BY FINELEY  HOSPITAL IN DUBQUE.AND A PARTNER OF LONG TIME UROLOGIST JIM VOELKER.      IN MAQUOKETA, THE PLAN IS TO HAVE A CLINIC
ONE DAY A MONTH.

A BIRTH:    PAUL AND KATHERINE EVERDING OF FREEPORT, ILLINOIS, ARE PARENTS
OF A GIRL, BORN TUESDAY IN FREEPORT.     GRANDPARENTS ARE BOB AND
MARILYN EVERDING OF MAQUOKETA.

WE HAVE NO OBITUARIES IN THE NEWS LOCALLY.    HOPE IT STAYS THAT
WAY FOR CHRISTMAS.
