MAQUOKETA HAD SOME RAIN OVER THE WEEKEND. SATURDAY WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY. LAST NIGHT, WE GOT 6/10 OF AN INCH. WE DID NOT GET THE 90-PLUS
HEAT SATURDAY AND SUNDAY THAT HAD BEEN FORECAST. TODAY, NICE
AND HIGH OF 80. NO RAIN IN FORECAST FOR THE WEEK.

"FOOTLOOSE" WAS A HIT THIS WEEKEND AT THE OHNWARD FINE ARTS CENTER.
THE 3 PERFORMANCES BROUGHT IN NEARLY 2,000.....A GOOD TURNOUT.
FUN SHOW. PUT ON BY THE PIPE PIPE PLAYERS LITTLE THEATRE GROUP,
ENTERTAINING US FOR 43 YEARS. THEY RECENTLY BOUGHT THEIR OWN BUILDING FOR STORAGE, REHEARSALS, AND OFFICE SPACE.

KEVEN ANDERSEN, A KMAQ STUDENT ANNOUNCER STOPPED IN TO SAY HELLO
THIS AFTERNOON. HE WAS HERE FROM 1996-99. HIS DAD THOSE YEARS WAS
WITH ANDREW SCHOOL. NOW WITH PRINCE OF PEACE HIGH SCHOOL IN CLINTON. KEVIN GRADUATED FROM IOWA, AND IS NOW A 1ST. LT. IN THE U.S. ARMY AND WILL GO TO IRAQ IN 2 WEEKS FOR HIS FIRST OVER-SEAS DUTY. NICE TO SEE HIM
HE'S STILL SINGLE.

SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TONIGHT.

THE CLINTON ENGINES MUSEUM WILL CELEBRATE A FIRST ANNIVERSARY
SATURDAY, AUGUST 15TH WITH A BELGIAN WAFFLE BREAKFAST AND AN ORAL
HISTORY PROGRAM. BREAKFAST FROM 8 A.M. UNTIL NOON AND THE HISTORY PROGRAM AT 12:30. THE PUBLIC IS WELCOME. DURING THE BREAKFAST AND
HISTORY PROGRAM, ADMISSION WILL BE FREE TO THE MUSEUM.
