IT RAINED LAST NIGHT, SOME TODAY, AND CLOUDY NOW...HIGH ONLY UPPER 50'S TODAY.

JACKSON COUNTY MAGISTRATES RON BESCH OF BELLEVUE AND CORLIS BATY
OF MAQUOKETA WERE REAPPOINTED TO ANOTHER FOUR YEAR TERM AS
MAGISTRATES. THE JUDICIAL MAGISTRATES NOMINATING COMMISSION
INTERVIEWED BOTH CANDIDATES FOR 30 MINUTES YESTERDAY AFTERNOON.
MEMBERS OF THE COMMISSION ARE PHOEBE KECK, LIN REDLING, JON THOMS,
AND ATTORNEYS STEVE KAHLER AND TOM BREUCH. ALL ARE FROM MAQUOKETA
EXCEPT THOMS IS FROM BELLEVUE. BATEY HAS BEEN A MAGISTRATE FOR FOUR YEARS AND BESCH FOR AROUND 33 YEARS.

ON THE POLICE BLOTTER, KENDRA DAVIS SAID HER CELL PHONE WAS TAKEN
FROM HER VEHICLE PARKED AT LITTLE BEAR PARK THURSDAY AFTERNOON.
