ABOUT A HALF-INCH OF RAIN TODAY AND CLOUDY. HIGH OF 72.
NICE WEATHER STARTING TOMORROW FOR THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND.

THE JACKSON COUNTY REGIONAL HEALTH CENTER, THE HOSPITAL HERE IN MAQUOKETA, HAS STARTED ITS SEARCH AGAIN FOR A SURGEON, TO REPLACE
DR. PEDRO ATIENZA, WHO WILL RETIRE IN A YEAR OR SO. HOSPITAL
ADMINISTRATOR CURT COLEMAN TOLD HOSPITAL BOARD MEMBERS THE SURGEON CANDIDATE THEY HAD BEEN WORKING WITH FOR SEVERAL MONTHS HAD DECIDED
TO LOCATE ELSEWHERE. COLEMAN SAID THEY ARE DISAPPOINTED, BUT HAVE
ANOTHER CANDIDATE IN MIND. HE SAID THE CANDIDATE SAID THE REASONS HE DIDN'T CHOOSE MAQUOKETA WERE....FINDING BETTER ON-CALL ARRANGEMENTS,
TO SMALL A PRACTICE AND COMMUNITY AND OTHER FAMILY REASONS.
