ANOTHER HOT DAY IN MAQUOKETA.

BIG STORY TODAY....THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TODAY VOTED TO MOVE THE DHS...DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES....FROM THE ROSENBERG BUILDING TO THE EMPTY JACKSON COUNTY CARE FACIITY BUILDING NEAR ANDREW, OWNED BY THE COUNTY. THERE ARE 14 EMPLOYEES THAT WILL MOVE OUT THERE IN THE NEXT 10 DAYS AND THE MOVE WILL SAVE THE COUNTY
$3,650 A MONTH RENT.

AT THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING LAST NIGHT, THERE WAS DICUSSION ON WHAT TO DO WITH THE FORMER VEHICLE BRIDGE, CONVERTED TO A FOOT BRIDGE, THAT IS IN NEED OF REPAIR...AND IS LOCATED OUT AT HORSESHOE POND PARK. NO DECISION WAS MADE.

WINDOWS IN DOWNTOWN MAQUOKETA ARE DECORATED FOR HOMECOMING.

HAVE A GOOD TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.
