NICE WEATHER....NO RAIN....IN THE 80'S. WILL BE GREAT NIGHT FOR THE JACKSON COUNTY FAIR PARADE AND EVENTS AFTER.
TOMORROW, THURSDAY, FIRST FULL DAY OF FAIR. FRIDAY, MAY GET A LITTLE RAIN.

JOBLESS RATE IN JACKSON COUNTY WENT UP A BIT TO 4.4 PERCENT IN JUNE. IN MAY IT WAS 4.1.

MAQUOKETA COMMUNITY SCHOOLS WILL START ON TIME...THURSDAY, AUGUST 23RD. SUPT. KIM HUCKSTADT SAID THERE HAVE BEEN SOME RUMORS CIRCULATING THAT SCHOOL WOULD BE DELAYED BECAUSE OF CONTRUCTION AT THE HIGH SCHOOL. HUCKSTADT SAID IT WILL NOT BE DELAYED. HE SAID THE KITCHEN WILL BE FUNCTIONAL, BUT THE HIGH SCHOOL GYM WILL BE USED AS A CAFETERIA FOR AWHILE.'

THERE WERE 22 ENTRIES IN THE BUCKET OF BLOOMS CONTEST SPONSORED BY THE JACKSON COUNTY MASTER GARDNERS AT THE COUNTY FAIR. FIRST PLACE WENT TO DORIS CURRIER OF MAQUOKETA AND SHE WON $35.

QUAD CITY RADIO GROUP AIRS A WEEKLY HOUR RADIO SHOW WEEKENDS ON SEVERAL OF THEIR STATIONS. I WAS INTERVIEWED FOR LAST WEEKEND'S SHOW.
