SUNSHINE TODAY BUT STILL COLD, IN THE 30'S.

THE MAQUOKETA HIGH SCHOOL BOY'S SOCCER TEAM PLAYED THEIR FIRST EVER MATCH TUESDAY NIGHT AT GOODENOW FIELD. THEY PLAYED HOST TO DYERSVILLE BECKMAN AND LOST, 5 TO 1. IT WAS A 1-1 TIE AT THE HALF.
NEXT, THEY WILL HOST MONTICELLO NEXT THURSDAY.

YES, I THE ST. LOUIS CARDINALS ARE 0 AND 3. NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

THE CITY OF MAQUOKETA AND THE SCOTT COUNTY FAMILY YMCA HAS NOT YET REACHED AN AGREEMENT. THE DEADLINE TO DO SO HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO APRIL 30TH.

OUR NEW CONGRESSMAN BRUCE BRALEY WAS IN MAQUOKETA THIS WEEK WHILE CONGRESS IS ON SPRING BREAK. BRALEY SAID HEALTH CARE IS A TOP DISCUSSION TOPIC IN CONGRESS.

CONGRESSMAN DUNCAN HUNTER, OF CALIFORNIA, WAS IN MAQUOKETA TODAY.
HE'S RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT AS A REPUBLICAN. HE'S BEEN A CONGRESSMAN FOR AROUND 25 YEARS. HE AND HIS COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR, ROY TYLER,
STAYED OVER NIGHT AT THE DECKER AND HELD A BREAKFAST MEETING THERE THIS MORNING AND THEN WENT UP AND DOWN MAIN STREET ON A VISIT TO BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS. A BAPTIST, HE'S MARRIED, HASA TWO SONS AND FOUR GRANDCHILDREN AND IS A VIETNAM VET AND WAS A FORMER CHAIRMAN OF THE HOUSE ARMED SERVICES COMMITTEE. I HAD A SHORT TALK WITH HIM AND
IT SEEMS TO ME HE WILL BE A GOOD CANDIDATE. HE BOUGHT A NEW PICKUP OFF THE ASSEMBLY LINE IN DETROIT AND IS DRIVNG THAT BACK TO SAN DIEGO.

THERE IS A NEW PHOTO BELOW THIS FRIDAY REPORT TAKEN THIS AFTERNOON AT THE MAQUOKETA STATE BANK.

HAVE A NICE WEEKEND. HAPPY EASTER!

DENNIS VOY
