IT IS RAINING IN MAQUOKETA.

THE OLD, OLD MAQUOKETA SWIMMING POOL WHICH HAS REMAINED EMPTY FOR SEVERAL YEARS, RIGHT BEHIND THE BATHHOUSE, WILL BE FILLED IN WITH DIRT. THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL AGREED MONDAY NIGHT TO HAVE THE CITY'S PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT DO THE WORK.

ELIZABETH REXROAT AND BRADLEY DAGUE OF MAQUOKETA ARE PARENTS OF A GIRL BORN SUNDAY AT THE LOCAL HOSPITAL. GREAT GRANDMOTHER IS MARY TALLMAN OF MAQUOKETA.

THE MAQUOKETA GIRLS DEFEATED BENTON LAST NIGHT, HERE, BY 2 POINTS. TOMORROW NIGHT, THE MAQUOKETA BOYS HOST DEWITT
AND THE GAME WILL BE BROADCAST ON KMAQ, WITH BOB WARNER
AT THE PLAY BY PLAY MIKE.

ADAM HEPKER, A POINT GUARD FOR MID AMERICAN NAZERINE COLLEGE IN KANSAS, AND HIS TEAM, IS ON A TOUR OF ITALY, PLAYING THREE COLLEGE GAMES THERE AGAINST ITALIAN TEAMS. THEIR COACH IS FORMER MAQUOKETAN ROCKY LAMAAR AND ASSISTANT COACH IS FORMER MAQUOKETA COACH BILL FLEMMING. MOST PARENTS, AT THEIR EXPENSE, ARE ALSO ON THE TRIP, INCLUDING ADAM'S PARENTS, LEIGHTON AND CINDY HEPKER. LEIGHTON IS MY LONGTIME STATION MANAGER AND SALES MANAGER HERE AT KMAQ. THE TEAM WON THEIR OPENING GAME. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE OTHER TWO YET. THEY WILL RETURN HOME SUNDAY.

TAKE CARE.
