NO SNOW YET..BUT COLD TODAY..HIGH OF 22.
TWO TO FOUR INCHES OF SNOW POSSIBLE BY NOON TOMORROW.

SAGE ROSEFELS, FORMERLY OF MAQUOKETA, AND BACK-UP QUARTERBACK FOR THE HOUSTON TEXANS NFL TEAM, BROKE HIS RIGHT THUMB
IN SUNDAY'S GAME AND WILL BE OUT FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON.
FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS SEASON, SAGE WAS HOLDING FOR KICKER KRIS BROWN ATTEMPTING A FIELD GOAL AND WHEN IT WAS SHORT, ON THE RETURN, SAGE CHARGED DOWN THE FIELD AND MADE A TACKLE, RESULTING IN THE INJURY. HE HAS PLAYED IN FOUR GAMES THIS SEASON AND IS 27 FO 39 IN PASSING, FOR 265 YARDS, 3 TOUCHDOWNS AND ONE INTERCEPTION.

THE MAQUOKETA CITY COUNCIL HELD A 3-HOUR GOAL SESSION LAST NIGHT AND ONE OF THE NEW GOALS ON THE LIST IS TO ESTABLISH AN ORDINANCE WHICH WOULD BAN ALL BURNING IN THE CITY LIMITS.
FORMER CITY MANAGER PAT CALAHAN CONDUCTED THE SESSION. TWO COUNCILMEN WERE ABSENT, NEIL MOREHEAD AND TIM CLARK.
RUMOR HAS IT THAT MOREHEAD IS PLANNING TO RESIGN FROM THE COUNCIL. OTHER TOP GOALS CHOSEN BY THE COUNCIL LAST NIGHT:
DETERMINE THE FUTURE OF THE OLD SWIMMING POOL AND COMMUNITY CENTER...SETTING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT POLICIES...ASSESSMENT OF OLD HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS THAT HAVE ORANGEBURG SEWER PIPES...WORKING ON TRAFFIC FLOW IN THE CITY...AND REVIEWING THE CITY POLICY ON PAVING COMMERCIAL PARKING LOTS.

ERIC AND ERIN PETERSEN OF ALTOONA ARE THE PARENTS OF A GIRL BORN TUESDAY AT A DES MOINES HOSPITAL. GRANDPARENTS ARE JERRY AND MARY ANN HEINZEL OF MAQUOKETA AND PAT AND RON KEITEL OF MAQUOKETA.
