BEAUTIFUL DAY...HIGH OF 62.

HOSPICE OF JACKSON COUNTY HAS EXPRESSED INTEREST IN USING THE ANDREW JACKSON CARE FACILITY NEAR ANDREW. THIS WAS LEARNED THIS MORNING AT THE JACKSON COUNTY SUPERVIORS MEETING.
THE SUPERVISORS WILL HAVE A WORK SESSION WITH THE HOSPICE BOARD NEXT MONDAY MORNING, AT 8:30. AN ARCHITECT WITH DURANT IN DUBUQUE WAS AT THE SUPERVIORS MEETING THIS MORNING AND IN A LETTER TO LISA MELLOY OF HOSPICE, HE SAID IT WOULD COST UP TO $250,000 FOR IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE FACILITY BEFORE IT COULD BE USED. FOR ONE THING, ROOMS NOW DO NOT HAVE A TOILET AND THERE WOULD NEED TO BE ONE IN EACH ROOM. AND TO MEET VENTILATION REQUIREMENTS, TEMPERED OUTDOOR AIR WOULD NEED TO BE ADDED TO EACH ROOM. THE SUPERVIORS WILL LEARN MORE ABOUT THE IDEA MONDAY MORNING. IF IT CAME TO BE, IT WOULD CERTAINLY BE A LARGE HOSPICE FACILITY. THE SUPERVIORS HAVE THE VACANT BUILDING FOR SALE. IT HAS NOT BEEN USED SINCE THE CARE FACILITY CLOSED LAST YEAR.

A BIRTH. SHARICE NEUMANN AND DANIEL PARRAMORE OF MAQUOKETA ARE PARENTS OF A GIRL, BORN LAST THURSDAY AT THE LOCAL HOSPITAL.
GRANDPARENTS ARE BETTY NEUMANN AND WERNER NEUMANN OF MAQUOKETA AND PATERNAL GRANDPARENTS ARE RODGER AND JACKIE LANG OF MAQUOKETA.

GOT AN EMAIL FROM ALLEN BODKIN IN IBERIA, MISSOURI, SAYING HE ENJOYS THIS DAILY REPORT. SAYS GAS THERE WAS 2.99 A MONTH AGO AND IS NOW DOWN TO AROUND 2.29.

ON THE FRONT PAGE OF TODAY'S SENTINEL-PRESS, IS A PICTURE OF
BILL MAYBERRY OF MAQUOKETA AND DORIS (DOLPHIN) PETERSEN
TAKEN AT THE MAQUOKETA 1946 HOMECOMING DANCE. THEY WERE KING AND QUEEN. AND BOTH WILL BE THIS YEAR'S HOMECOMING PARADE GRAND MARSHALLS. THAT'S ON OCTOBER 13TH. BILL IS STILL ACTIVE WITH THE FORMER CLINTON ENGINES PARTS BUSINESS HERE IN TOWN AND DORIS AND HER HUSBAND LIVE IN VIRGINIA, NEAR WASHINGTON, D.C.

THE HOMECOMING COMMITEE IS STRESSING PAST HOMECOMING CELEBRATIONS THIS YEAR. IF YOU HAVE A STORY TO TELL ABOUT HOMECOMING IN THE PAST HERE IN MAQUOKETA, TELL US ABOUT IT ON KMAQ'S GUEST BOOK.

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY.
