MONEY FOR THEM WILL COME OUT OF A DRUG FORFEITURE FUND.
WHEN A JUDGE ORDERS FORFEITURE OF DRUG DEALERS ASSETS, THE MONEY GOES INTO A SPECIAL FUND FOR POLICE DEPARTMENTS.
CHIEF BRAD KORANDA SAID THE USUAL TIME FOR OFFICERS TO KEEP DUTY WEAPONS IS 8 TO 10 YEARS. MAQUOKETA'S GUNS ARE MORE THAN 16 YEARS OLD.

THE JACKSON COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS WANT TO SEE THE OLD TRUCK STOP FINIALLY CLEANED UP FROM THE FUEL CONTAMINATION FROM YEARS AGO. THE LAND WHERE BUILDING SITS IS CURRENTLY RENTED BY BRAD DEERY MOTORS FOR VEHICLE STORAGE.
THE BUILDING HAS BEEN EMPTY FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS.

AGAIN THIS YEAR, RYAN BECK, FORMERLY OF MAQUOKETA AND NOW
A PEORIA FIREFIGHTER, IS RUNNING IN A MEMPHIS TO PEORIA RUN TO RAISE FUNDS FOR ST. JUDE'S HOSPITAL. THIS IS THE 6TH YEAR RYAN
IS RUNNING IN THIS YEAR'S 25TH ANNIVERSARY RUN. THE EVENT WILL BE COVERED THIS FRIDAY NIGHT BY BRIAN WILLIAMS ON NBC NEWS AT 5:30. ANYONE WISHING TO DONATE TO RYAN FOR HIS RUN, SHOULD MAIL A CHECK TO RYAN BECK, 405 AVONDALE, EAST PEORIA,ILLINOIS, 61611.
IN SEVERAL RUNS THIS SATURDAY IN ILLINOIS, OVER $1-MILLION DOLLARS WILL BE RAISED. GOOD GOING...GOOD RUNNING...RYAN! HIS FOLKS ARE DENNIS AND MARY, LOOOONGTIME RESIDENTS OF MAQUOKETA.

THE CELEBRATION IOWA SINGERS AND JAZZ BAND CONCERT IS TONIGHT IN MAQUOKETA, SPONSORED BY KMAQ. WILL HAVE A REPORT TOMORROW ON THE SHOW.

KEN AND LUCY DONAVAN WILL CELEBRATE THEIR 50TH ANNIVERSARY THIS SATURDAY.
