HOPE YOU HAD A NICE EASTER!

IT WAS A RAINY DAY IN EASTERN IOWA. SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY WE HAD AN INCH AND A HALF OF RAIN.

HAWK'S MARKINGS OF MAQUOKETA, OWNED BY ANNE(PITCHER) AND MIKE HAWKS, HAVE BEEN BUSY LANDING SOME TOP GOLF COURSES FOR INSTALLATON OF THEIR YARDAGE MARKERS INSTALLED ON IRRATION HEADS. EARLIER THIS MONTH, MURFIELD VILLAGE, THE HOME COURSE OF JACK NICKLAUS IN OHIO AND SHINNACOCK HILLS IN NEW YORK CONTRACTED WITH THE HAWKS FOR THE WORK.
BOTH COURSES ARE TOP 100 COURSES. IN FACT, HAWK'S MARKINGS CAN BE FOUND ON 63 OF THE TOP 100 COURSES IN THE COUNTRY, INCLUDING AGUSTA
NATIONAL WHERE THE MASTERS TOURNAMENT IS PLAYED. THEY HAVE THEIR MARKINGS ON GOLF COURSES IN 30 COUNTRIES. TYPICALLY, 300 TO 500 MARKINGS ARE NEEDED FOR AN 18-HOLE COURSE. IN ADDITION TO ANN AND MIKE, THEY EMPLOY TWO FULLTIME AND FOUR PARTTIME EMPLOYEES AND STAY BUSY YEAR AROUND AT THEIR LOCATION NEXT TO THEIR HOME ON MYATT DRIVE.
ANNE IS A MEMBER OF THE MAQUOKETA SCHOOL BOARD AND MIKE JUST JOINED THE MAQUOKETA ROTARY CLUB AND THEY ALSO OWN THE FAIRLY NEW TACO JOHNS RESTRAURANT IN MAQUOKETA.

A GUN AND AMMUNITION, CASH, BONDS, PAPERWORK FOR A SWISS BANK ACCOUNT AND A LAPTOP COMPUTER WERE FOUND IN MARK WILLEY'S CAR WHEN POLICE SEARCHED IT. WILLEY IS STILL BEING HELD IN THE LOCAL DETENTION CENTER ON CHARGES HE TRIED TO MURDER HIS SISTER, EMILIE HARMON AND SHE IS IN STABLE CONDITION AT UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS IN IOWA CITY.
POLICE OBTAINED A SEARCH WARRANT FOR WILLEY'S 1986 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS WHICH WAS PARKED IN THE FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH PARKING LOT ON THURSDAY, THE DAY OF THE ATTACK. POLICE ARRESTED WILLEY ABOUT A BLOCK FROM THE CHURCH AFTER HARMON WAS STABBED. WHEN POLICE FOUND WILLEY, HE WAS WEARING A BLACK CLOTH SHIRT AND A BLACK SKIRT WHICH WAS WORN OVER BLUE JEANS. IN HIS CAR THEY FOUND A 22 CALIBER GUN WITH AMMUNITION, $170 IN TRAVELERS CHECKS, $1,300 IN EE SAVINGS BONDS, $20 IN FOREIGN CURRENCY, SIX $100 BILLS AND $20 IN CASH. OFFICERS ALSO FOUND A PASSPORT, A CD FROM AN EAST DUBUQUE BANK, AN MP3 PLAYER AND SOME MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS.

TWO VEHICLE COLLIDED AT LOCUST AND NIAGARA IN MAQUOKETA LATE YESTERDAY MORNING. CHARGED, ELIZABETH WILLMAN, AGE 75 OF MAQUOKETA, FOR STOP SIGN VIOLATION. SHARI JORGENSEN, AGE 42, OF MAQUOKETA WAS DRIVING EAST ON LOCUST AND WILLMAN WAS AT THE INTERSECTION AND THE TWO VEHICLES COLLIDED. SOMEWHERE OVER $1,500 DAMAGE TO EACH VEHICLE. NO INJURIES.

I SOLD TWO ROTARY DUCKS TO AASE AND RICHARDT JOHANSEN IN GARHNEYUAENGEL, DENMARK. HOPE I SPELLED THE CITY RIGHT.
THEIR U.S. $10 BILL CAME THIS MORNING. THEY ARE RELATIVES OF JERRY AND DOROTHY RASMUSSEN OF MAQUOKETA, HAVE VISITED MAQUOKETA MORE THAN ONCE, LIKE THE TOWN AND WANT TO HELP OUT THE RORARY. THE JACK AND JILL STORE IS CLOSED AND TODAY WAS A BIG AUCTION SALE OF THE EQUIPMENT, WITH MANY ATTENDING. NO WORD YET ON SOME OTHER BUSINESS GOING INTO THE LARGE BUILDING.
